Hardly imaginable with cavalry.
Just like every one turn left and walk forward without changing relative position. Everyone, foot or horse, can do this in seconds.

But rotate a whole formation is much harder, especially for the soldiers at flank.

Re: Flanking Bug

The enemy, iIrc, turned 45 left, then 45 right twice to get around the in-between melee. Maybe not a bug, but I think shouldn´t be allowed. Not a realistic manoeuvre. I think the game simulated something like, the formation walks horizontally without turning it face. Walking doesn't take much time,...

Re: Flanking Bug

However, the enemy started behind my flank, made a very unnatural move around the melee on my side, then attacked *from the front 45° ahead*. I don't think the charge is even possible as it requires a at least a 90-degree turn. When a unit is impacted with an enemy, on the next turn, it will turn i...

I think it's the Print Screen button on the keyboard.
Not sure if F12 on steam works.

Re: General hopping after melee combat

Not really intended, but probably not worth the trouble of "fixing". I saw the general can be transferred even his unit routed the enemy by resolving the melee, which can exploited as +50 PoA twice. I cannot remember clearly, seems if his unit resolve the melee and doesn't route the enemy, he won't...

Re: How can I arrange a multiplayer battle?

Can it be possible to let each of players to pick own army (which only shows to the other player at deployment)?
Currently, I think only the host can pick the armies for both the players, which could be good in arranged private match-ups, but not so good for public ones.

Re: General hopping after melee combat

I've confirmed this. Could it be possible caused by rise of Ai mod?

As long as the general's melee attack causes the target to retreat or route, he can be transferred to another unit.

It happens when cavalry gets flank-attacked by infantry, supposedly so cavalry can try to fall back after the impact.
I just figured it out also - if the cavalry tries to retreat but gets blocked, it will change facing even not moved at all.

Unit change facing after impact.

Normally, a unit will keep its original facing after suffer a flank impact and then face the attacker on the next turn. But sometimes, I think mostly when a cavalry got flanked, the unit would immediately face the attacker (the attacker still get the flank PoA). This lead it easily get chain flanked...

Is field of glory: empires has the same battle mechanic and army list as fog 2 but with naval and strategic part?
have a check of the manual for all the ways in which Empires is unique?
I see, the combat seems completely different.

General hopping after melee combat

I just found, when an enemy engaged by multiple units (one with general in) and near to break. If I resolve the melee with a unit (not the one with general) and break it, I can still transfer general to another unit. Though this won't give the PoA bonus in 2 melee combats, it certainly can cover mor...

Re: Use Fog2 to show some ancient Chinese formations

But I think this will give a lot of pressure on the front line.
Probably good for pikemen setup, so pikes at front to take punch, while the reserves to prevent flanking.

Unlimited retreat on cavalry?

These poor guys was completely surrounded. Every time my spearmen charged them, they retreated to the pikemen below. Then my pikemen charged them, they retreatd to the spearmen, just a ping-pong. But I couldn't charge the pikemen on the right as I expected them would retreat out of the encir...

I just figured out using a superior cavalry for what I tried to do can solve this problem. Superior ones are less likely to retreat on contact :)
