Thanks very much. I guess, as a friend of mine suggested, I'm overdue for a date with the manual :)

Green stars for USSR?

Odd thing that I have seen for the first time. Started a PBEM of "Three Rivers" using the latest update, and about half of my USSR units have the expected red star above the units, but the rest have a green star? I can't find any commonality, such as the green ones being armour only, or anything lik...

Re: stretched screen problem

Hey Iain, thanks for confirming that I'm not losing my mind at least. I was sure that the images looked a bit wonky on the laptop compared to how they look on my old desktop. Minor thing and does not detract from an otherwise awesome game.

Re: BA 2 freezes

BA 2 freezes on me when I try to click on options or load. Very odd. Just my luck. In your opinion would I have a similar problem with Pike and Shot. I have been anxiously waiting for it but can't take the chance of similar problems. I think it's the same engine. Of course I did get to play BA2 for...

stretched screen problem

I run BA2 on a Dell laptop with native screen resolution of 1920x1080. The screen looks stretched horizontally when I compare to how the game looks on my desktop machine running at 1280 x 1024. On the laptop installation, I do have the game set to the 1920 x 1080. Any ideas? EDIT - now that I look a...

Re: Feedback

First impressions are everything in life and in gaming, and FRtM makes a very good impression indeed. Good tutorial/tip mechanism, fairly intuitive interface and nice graphics. I agree with those who have said that an undo button and scrollable map edges would be nice. Overall, the game is fun and a...

Re: GS v3.01 slight modifications for testing

I am okay with the current setup for Italian surrender. It's realistic enough, and more importantly and as Cybvep has already commented upon, we don't want to encourage Axis players to ignore Sicily, Sardinia or North Africa.

I have contacted Welk about these links. Until then, they do indeed appear to be broken Update: I have removed the links. The poster replied to my query, but not in a helpful way so until he re-posts the links I guess we'll have to get along without this one. Too bad, but broken links don't reflect ...

Nice to have you back, Happycat. :) Soon GS v3.0 will be out and then you have plenty of time to play GS again. Awesome! Long desired to know you ! Waiting for playing with you in 3.0 ! :) I look forward to a game with you too, as soon as I get up to speed again. I'm VERY rusty on this one.

Nice to be back...

Hello My time commitments to other projects had taken me away from the GS forum and associated activities for the past many months, but there has now been a merger of my two world's so to speak. With Fury Software partnering with Slitherine for the impending Strategic Command 3, and the beta tests f...

Re: Strategic Command 3 - From Historicon

I have been following the gossip the last couple of days, and Hubert needs to seeeeeriously make a statement to the effect the screenies are ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA :) They have been reacting like the images are near finished it would seem. Funny in the extreme the way some wargamers can fail to see the ...

Re: Strategic Command 3 - From Historicon

If anyone who isn't familiar with the brand has questions, I can answer those for you. The SC franchise has always been a big favourite of mine, along with the "Commander" series, and Battle Academy. In addition to my years of testing and proofreading with Slitherine, I have also played Strategic Co...

Re: SWAP FUNCTION

Swap turns both units in the direction they are moving, as if they had moved normally. It does not attempt to use the 'Reverse' move action. This hasn't changed since it was added in the Husky update. I guess I never noticed that before because it had not caused any ill-consequence. This time of co...

SWAP FUNCTION

Playing two games using the Rommel test build. Have not noticed this before, but the "swap" function appears to change the facing of units. In one instance, I had a Sherman Firefly facing towards the enemy and successfully snuffed a Panther that had its flank exposed. I then wanted to go after the o...
