You could make SPAA more useful by making it able to attack ground targets. They were frequently employed in this role. Also give them more Soft attack. In the future, I hope we can have this. The problem that stops us currently is the need for additional art for their switch modes. Why would you n...

Demo has a good hook!

I have played the demo and I can't find any problems. It seems unbreakable, and it certainly plays well. The addition of new units and higher challenges as each scenario unfolds is very good. I've tried to look at this as if I was a new-comer to this type of game, and I think the demo will definitel...

I have played this campaign twice now, up to and including the Minsk scenario. First time at Sgt level, 2nd time at Colonel. The difference between the two levels is quite noticeable and in the case of the Colonel level, as tough as one would hope. I can only imagine what the higher levels may be li...

I thought about naming the two officers when I go and bug fix that issue. Maybe if I can find some historical references. :) I tried to find some information on this for you, but no luck. It is possible, perhaps even likely that Romanian observers accompanied some of the German forces during the in...

The Yugoslavia and Romania flags are kinda similar. Are you sure they weren't Romanian Flags? Also, what unit did you use to capture these cities? Artillery and Air Defense units cannot capture flags. For sure it was the Yugoslavian flag; the Romanian units were not used to capture any cities in we...

Happycat's DLC thread

Scenario 1 (Yugoslavia) playing at SGT level. As mentioned in bug thread, only one minor bug encountered. Game play was smooth and no graphical glitches encountered. AI performed quite well, and even at this low level caused a couple of unexpected delays for me. My only major complaint is that Caval...

Going to unstick this thread, DLC 1941 will have a new one once it's ready for testing. Thanks again for all your help! :D My wife says I never look hard enough for things before asking her where something is----nevertheless, I can't see a new DLC bug thread yet, so I will report a small one here :...

My impression of the 1941 campaign, first scenarion (June 22/41) is that at "Colonel" level, it is very challenging. I think the prestige level, objective briefing and AI are all pretty good. Since I have not yet progressed to a second scenario, I can't comment on Hero and Medal acquisitions. What I...

Hmm - I wonder if the upswing in PzC traffic is negatively affecting things. Does the game eventually go through if you keep trying over and over, or does it never succeed? I will look into how we can try and improve this. Cheers Pip I obviously don't speak for JohnnieB57 but in my case, it tries t...

So far the only sources I've found on the calliope are scarce and unreliable...however, the gist I'm getting is that rockets were generally used to blanket an area, as they were largely inaccurate (unlike how they are used in race for the town, where you can almost guarantee destroying a tank withi...

The range for indirect fire was only about 150 meters 150 meters? Maybe it would be good to reduce the range a decent amount (I think this is about 4 squares!) Else those calliopes are hidden away from enemy armour and never put at risk. As for other artillery, can we make it less accurate at long ...

Re: Upload to server failure messages

You using wireless at all ? I always have internet connection problems when I run my microwave oven. Also, it sounds like your in Canada, eh? Perhaps the time frame of 5-6pm is roughly when the sun sets ... the atmosphere gets pretty ugly during the transition. There's way too much electrical inter...

Hmm. OK - we will look into it at this end and see if there is anything that stands out on the server logs. Thanks a lot. Cheers Pip Good luck! I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination, and can only guess at how much fun it will be trying to find the cause. Incidentally, my typical tu...

there were occasions However, if the Calliope crews used this tactic as a matter of course then bring it on! I have not read many accounts of it happening, and most of the few I did see were somewhat anecdotal in nature. Undoubtedly it occurred, because many odd things occur during war, as witness ...

It's certainly an odd occurance. Do your turns usually take a long time to upload (e.g. more than a second or 2). Could it be that your connection has high contention (e.g. at 5pm everyone comes home and turns on their torrents of DWtS and kills your upload rate ;) )? Thanks for reporting the issue...

I'll have a look at the bombardment. What I'll probably do is make it more likely they inflict low damage which wont hurt anyone with decent armour. A late "chime in" here---I find that the Calliope is absolutely deadly in the "Race for the Town" MP scenario, which I have now played several times f...

Possible solution could be to adopt the old Squad Leader rule. Dont remember exactly but I believe it was: Any broken unit was not allowed to rout into open terrain hex or enemy known LOS and must rout toward the "Rear", not allowed to decrease range to any known enemy position. Doesn't completely ...

Upload to server failure messages

I might be misinformed or have misunderstood something; but I thought the false "failed to upload to server" message issue was fixed? In any event, I am still seeing this message on occasion. It almost always occurs around 5 pm to 6 pm Atlantic Canada time, which would be 10'ish where the server is,...
