September 1942: The Italian Front, advancing slowly. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa117/davidjwest/Italy-1.jpg We've taken Warsaw at last and will need to upgrade the armoured divisions as the Panther is now available. Three Russian armoured divs destroyed this turn. http://i202.photobucket.co...

Yes, both right, against the computer and I am learning things that would make me modify my approach in future. I think the basic theory is sound though so will post another if there is any interest. I didn't take France as I wanted to avoid D Day but that probably won't be a problem in the timescal...

Here's a look at the Italian/Franco front: http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa117/davidjwest/Italy.jpg The Italians are pushing the French slowly back with help from the Hungarians. The Polish front is looking interesting as the Germans counter-attack with the Poles getting in the way somewhat! ht...

Spoke too soon, the Russians have attacked along the borders with Romania and Hungary although not in any great force and there are largely contained. However, they manage to caputure Konigsberg which means my divisions there are without supply so we attack through Danzig to ensure they get resuppli...

It's now May 1942 - The allies have thrown the odd bomber raid against the Ruhr and the French have attacked Italy but not been able to breakthrough. I have used this wanton aggression as pretext to send the submarine wolf packs out hunting in the Atlantic and we have sunk a number of allied ships. ...

AAR - Delaying the Inevitable Alternate Reality [finished]

Using the GS Mod - I'm going to try something different. One reason I think the Germans lost the war is that they started it too early. Delaying the war by a year or two, or even more would solve a lot of their problems: Advantages: 1. Technology - German tanks weren't actually very good at the star...

October 31st 1941 France General Huntziger is recruited and once he is available will be crucial in the defence of France as he is experienced at fighting rearguard actions. Britain The German Kriegsmarine has counterattacked with two submarine wulf-packs hitting our carrier group hard. Ark Royal h...

Lessons Learned from History

I'm fairly new to this game so that may explain why I find it hard to win as the Axis. I prefer playing as the Axis as it is more of a challenge and the "what if" scenarios fascinate me. What I've learned from history: 1. Research is vital - the Axis suffers from a shortage of manpower and by having...

September 1st 1939 Poland: It's been the worst kept secret in history but today the Nazi forces invaded Poland. Krakow fell in the first few days as the dated Polish Army was unable to match the Wehrmacht might and the new "blitzkrieg" tactics employed by the enemy. All we can hope to do is withdra...

A Glorious Day! Rarely have I seen the Fuhrer in such a fine mood as I relayed to him the news of our troops initial successes in recovering the land given away by the traitor generation who “lead” us in 1918! Our scientists are hard at work working on supporting our panzer troops in their blitzkri...

AAR: davidjwest (Allies) vs Starshatter (Axis)

Hi, we're using the GS mod and both of us are relative newbies to the game so will make a lot of mistakes for the veterans to gnash their teeth over! http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa117/davidjwest/Allies/Sept21939Poland.jpg Typical start, Germany invades Poland while the Poles try in vain to st...
