Marines DLC Gilbert Islands scenario help

I made good progress so far, Bougainville was rather easy going and apparently meant to give me some resources to prepare for the Gilbert and Marshall islands. This Gilbert Islands scenario has quite a handful of extra scenarios, the main effort however is the attack and capture of Betio island. The...

Re: Impressed and Request

Good idea, I also liked that overall statistic for a campaign.

But you can already see individual performance under the "i" screen of each unit any time you want.

Re: US Pacific Tokio savegame corruption

Hi, I restarted the scenario as I did not do well on the Eastern Peninsula anyways. I am not sure how the tank managed to drive over the Marine, I had one unit with a truck attached, maybe the Marine was mounted up in a truck? I think I misclicked, wanted rather to attack than to move/drive there. A...

Marines DLC, "Blissful and Goodtime" report

A very nice scenario, requires very exact planning and unfortunately a bit experimentation and restarting/reloading, otherwise you might fall in some traps. I almost rand out of time to clear Mono Island in the end due to an error in placement that cost me dearly, the 30 turns are providing you with...

Destroy Vila Airfield in scenario Munda Point

It's a secondary objective, and I wonder if I am required to send ground troops there or if a level or tac bomber attack could accomplish that?

Marines DLC, first battle (Taking the Initiative) report

And it's a quite enthusiastic report! :) That's where he first scenario is taking place, near Tulagi and a small nearby island. https://www.google.com/maps/place/9°06'00.0"S+160°09'00.0"E/@-9.2347679,160.2183045,170210m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d-9.1!4d160.15 (please copy, direct link do...

Re: Marines, Winter War or Blitzkrieg

BNC, your thoughts are very much appreciated! :) I just finished the US Pacific Campaign (had to restart, my save was bugged for some reason) and will now go for Marines or the two Japanese Campaigns. Lost an Elite Infantry on the Eastern Peninsula and a Destroyer to a kamikaze sub. Given how much t...

US Pacific Tokio savegame corruption

I cannot open this savegame anymore. I had to revert to the [U.S. Pacific] Auto Save file, the "Turn End" autosave also cannot be loaded.

Marines, Winter War or Blitzkrieg

I just reached Tokio and my force is better than it was when I started playing OOB over a year ago. Yay! ;) I am about to wonder what my xmas campaign should be. Finland because of the snow, or Blitzkrieg or Marines first. I am not too eager to play the Japanese Campaigns atm. I would like a campaig...

As mentioned above and don't get confused:

Bayug Hangar is on the BURI Airfield, that is how the hex is named.

Re: To whom it may concern

Erm my Steam download of 2.9.9 was a few seconds even with slow speed. NO SANTA HATS!

But some sound issues with the main theme not playing on certain occasions seem fixed, no patch notes, unfortunately.

Re: OoB Blitzkrieg and reality

Doesn't sound good, have bought but didn't try it yet. Heard very often that it doesn't feel very much like a dynamic tank "Blitzkrieg", but rather slow and methodical progress. The mechanics of ground/air/sea go together nicely in the Pacific campaign, but I also wonder how the land war will work. ...

Re: Merry Christmas Moscow!

Congratulations, General Shards! Now you have to decide if you core units should solidarise with the enemy over christmas or not. :) Just beat New Georgia at Captain difficulty, getting back into the game slowly. If you have a recommendation for the next campaign (Marines, Winter War, Blitzkrieg), l...

Re: Coming Soon: Game Replays

Good for multiplayer! Or as guide how to do something for singleplayer. I am looking forward to it. Still re-learning the game. Very proud of my successful evacuation in Warplan Orange. Now Bataan. Another delaying action. Brrr! I guess nobody wants to upload replays of "Bataan gone bad"...^^ Let's ...

Re: Specialization system choices for US Pacific Campaign

It's +1 Naval/Land/Air each, right? Might just allow to squeeze in one more carrier or BB? :)

It seems every scenario gives +7 advancement points. Just reached Bataan and still wonder where to spend them.

Specialization system choices for US Pacific Campaign

I finished Pearl Harbor and got 7 points, now I am at Warplan Orange-3. 5 points are the minimum for 1 star Infantry, 10 for Field Medics. I remember in my previous runs of this Campaign that Field Medics aka the ability to generate resources points by fighting was very important for me early on. Ho...

Re: Best Strategy for Pearl Harbor?

I figured it out, though I must say either I couldn't quite follow you, or I did it differently. Let me explain how I did it: First Jeep goes to the right and unlocks an AA, that AA grabs the harbor airfields. Then the Jeep drives left, the AA with the truck goes RIGHT to the far away airfield, whil...
