Re: So is v2 any good?

So only two or three people on here have actually played games with FOG2. That says something about the take up of the electronic version I suppose. Rubbish. What this says is that 2 or 3 people on the forum have played games, have noticed this thread and have bothered to post! Graham, ther...

Can you tell us how much it's going to cost us then ?

Edit - answered above (sort of).

Re: Version Control/Primacy

Personally I sold my rulebook about six months ago (expecting the V2 rulebook to be out rather sooner :( ). Haven't found it too much of a problem playing without it. Occassionally I need to look something up so I have a look in my opponent's book.

Re: Egyptian archers

The fact that most infantry do not double POA them (in period) is a pretty big deal. Can't see it making a massive difference to be honest - if you are average and a POA down, then you are still going to lose, just maybe not as quickly. What if you have overlaps ? Say 8 archers vs 6, or even 4 prot...

When you say "very expensive" could you give us some idea about what this is going to cost.

Actually that is incorrect. What was said was that there may be a discount for pc + print version but not for ipad.

Why is it cheesy ? It seems rather pointless, as they will find it difficult to expand, be very vulnerable to missile fire and have exposed flanks due to the narrow frontage. I can't see why anyone would deploy like this, but I wouldn't call it cheesy.

Re: Evade Distance?

A month ? 4 days surely ?

Btw, I was assuming Dave R was correct about partial interpenetrations earlier (not happening in the a manouvre phase), so didn't bother checking. Not that I could check, as I sold my rules some time ago in anticipation of V2 coming rather sooner than it has.

Re: Evade Distance?

He's already said why -they only happen in an evade or pursuit (i.e. in an involuntary interpenetration).

Re: Evade Distance?

Yes - if it clears the BG it was interpenetrating during the evade then it has completed its previous partial interpenetration so it reforms at the end of the evade move.

Re: Evade Distance?

But the word "previous" is significant here surely. It is referring to the next movement phase in which the partially interpenetrating BG can voluntarily move. It is then completing it's previous partial interpenetration. So it doesn't reform until it can actually complete the interpenetration move ...

Re: FIELD OF GLORY v2 release

I think he meant it is a significant cost to Slitherine to produce a Print on Demand version; nothing to do with how much it costs to buy. What, you don't think the cost to Slitherine will influence the selling price ? I'm sure the majority of any extra cost they incur will be passed on to the buye...

Re: FIELD OF GLORY v2 release

This is going to be a significant cost so you better buy the damn thing when its available ;) Well it depends what you mean by significant. £30 ? £40 ? More ? I'm pretty sure that any more than £30 will put a lot of people off buying the rules. I'm certainly not going to say for sure that I will bu...

But it's print on demand, so the "total cost of a book" is just the cost of designing the book.

Re: FIELD OF GLORY v2 release

What will the print version look like ? Softback or hardback, same size as V1 ? Full Colour with all the pictures or just necessary diagrams ?
