Re: How can I charge?

You need to read the flank and rear charge section more carefully. I've quoted earlier in the thread the rule that makes it clear that a charge that first contacts a rear corner is a flank charge. Not relating to the example here, but what if you first contact a rear corner but then step forward in...

It doesn't matter which country you are in, if you ban discussion on a particular topic, that is (by definition) censorship.

But it is Slitherine's site, and up to them what they allow discussion of.

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

What will be the situation if people do not buy into the digital only product due to anticipation of a printable version, will the printable version actually appear under those circumstances? I wasthinking the same thing, especially with this comment : So in the last analysis the success or otherwi...

Re: What about the actual changes?

As a side note, I'd like to point out the moderators are being pretty tolerant of some unhelpful replies in this thread... WE GET IT, YOU DON'T LIKE THE DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION SCHEME. There are about half dozen other threads where you have made this abundantly clear. Hijacking an unrelated thread to ...

Re: What about the actual changes?

As you seemed to miss of the end bit were I said these changes had been disscussed for the last 12 months in the Beta section. Maybe those people that spent 12 months of their time doing that and playing beta games and adding to the changes might just be a little annoyed to now find no show on the ...

Presumably it's because they don't trust us and are worried about piracy. They should take a leaf out of Osprey's book and look at their comments about trusting their customers in the article quoted above. The idea that it's all about IP protection is speculation... . What other reason would there ...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

Ian M I am concerned that there seems to a lack of flexibility in the plan, why does it have to be this "Digital Managed" solution or nothing? Surely its easier to have a PDF, all the tablets and computers can read PDF's so it only has to be published in one format, not many to meet the expectation...

And of course there's nothing to stop comp organisers introducing comp specific rules - such as Armoured Knights moving 5MU for example. And of course that's exactly what I expect to do for the NZ nationals next Easter if there is no satisfactory resolution before then. If there is no satisfactory ...

Re: from FOW back to FOG

There is also the BHGS mailing list and the FoG mailing list. Its their rules. We can't copy them. But we can play them however we like. Same as DBM was played for many years. The rules were written. Then various wargaming bodies added to the rules for the way they wanted the games to be played and...

If this is the future of fog and people dont like what they see then what other options are there for wargaming ancients?. Polkovnik wrote Well, given that what you've quoted sounds more like something that could happen in FOG than Impetus (and I can say that having played both games), I think it has lost something in the telling. Unless Hammy has got it completely wrong, which I very much doubt. No, it was single base...

No - it was the mechanics of how it happened, i.e. you could completely ignore the unit in front of you, switch your bases around so you always fired at the same unit rather than the unit that was otherwise directly in front of them. I believe the actual quote was something like "Dave, even somebod...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

I heard the comments from a fairly well respected veteran of the wargaming scene and Impetus is utterly broken. We've been playing it quite a bit at the club for the last year or two, and it's been fine so far. What did he claim was broken about it, do you remember? It was to do with Light Horse. A...

Indeed it does.
