Uhu wrote:there was a Model 1942 (KV-1C) version too.
Damn. That's what motorcycle withdrawal syndrome does to my mind. Never knew that version was called KV-1C. But then, isn't it more logical to call it KV-1 '42 instead of using German designation name?

KV-1C should be renamed to KV-1S, according to rules of transcription. You don't call IS-2 like 'IC-2' after all. Really dumb mistake.

Between the HAWK and wonderfull navigators I don't think there is a paratrooper anywhere that hasn't been missdropped at least once Yeah. So be happy: your paras don't get a random strength decrease on drop due to failed 'chutes, lost soldiers and tree hitting; they can't get insta-killed by landin...

Got a non-legal copy after reading a review at Absolute Games, liked it, bought the game. Same goes for all the CC re-releases. :)
The only PG I played before was PG3SE -- still trying to make it run on my widescreen. :/

Q: KV-1C and SE units

1. KV-1C should be renamed to KV-1S; you don't use 'IC-2' for IS-2 tanks, do ya?
2. Playing DLC '41 I got a fourth SE unit -- is that normal?
3. Can't find info about exp cap in DLC '41 and '42 -- 375/425? So it's 2 stars for '39, 3 stars for '40/'41 and 4 stars for '42?

Any tipps for a good core force or force mixture? Should I rather get elite units or rather low quality units or a mixture of them - what is the best mixture? That's a matter of personal preference; I'm an infantry centered player so I mostly use it with 2 units of AT and 2-3 units of armor -- choi...

Damn, you've never played CC?! Lucky you. So much wonderful moments ahead... In all CC except for CC3 you have a bunch of battalion battlegroups on a strategic map. You can change their composition, refill losses, etc. You move this BGs on strategic map; when they meet with enemy BGs, combat occurs;...

Last Stand Arnhem is CC2 (my favourite), Cross of Iron is CC3, Wacht Am Rhein is CC4 and The Longest Day is CC5.

Close Combat: Cross of Iron is based on CC3. There you can upgrade units, recoup losses, rest units from fighting, etc. CoI is the only CC re-release which has static campaign though.

Two questions. What level do you play on and how much damage does the enemy air force do to you? I play on Field Marshall and in the 40 DLC I would usually have 5 BF-109s so I was wondering if I was overkilling a little! I'm playing on 'Colonel' level (yeah, I'm silly, I know), and in Greece I took...

Dunno about JA:BiA, preview noted very poor AI. As for real time with pause, I'd better play Brigade E5 or 7.62; JA2 has as good turn-based system as it can probably be (APs, interrupts, all that). And JA has some magic... don't think this BiA will catch that. I bet 100$ it won't. PS If only I could...

I'm conquering Maginot Line in DLC '40, and my force is divided into 3 more or less independent KG's, which can stack together when necessary: 1 Recon (SdKfz 232 8Rad) 2 Tanks (Panzer IVD) 3 Infantry (1 Pioniere, 1 Grenadier, 1 SE Grenadier) 1 Arty (Sturmpanzer I) Airforce: 3 Ju-87R 3 Bf-109E UPD Ma...

1. All forces in CC are core, there're no aux units. Core force like in PG exists in CC3.
2. I don't know of any promotions in CC games.
3. Don't know.
4. Works well in 1680x1050 for me.

26, made in USSR -- they sure knew how to make top-notch kids and tanks! :) Got hooked on computers and computer gaming in '89 -- never got off. RPGs, tactics, wargames -- that kind of stuff.
Young guys are a real minority here... and we still have no females. :)

Not good, IMO. Infanterie ist die Konigin aller Waffen, that's how it should be.
