I have used spray primers for years from Orchard Supply Hardware without any problems. They used to have flat primers in green, yellow, white, red oxide, gray, and black. Unfortunately they discontinued the green and yellow, though I have found another source for flat green that is actually better s...

If you are in the United States, go to Orchard Supply Hardware, Lowes, or Home Depot. IIRC Orchard has extra large cans of spray primer for some colors.

Also, base depths are much greater than the actual depth of the formation. Even though the two battle groups are in base to base contact when lined up behind each other there would in reality be a space between the two units.

If you are willing to use paper buidlings you could use the "Roman Seas" buildings and rescale them for 10mm or you might contact Hotz and ask if he would provide them in 10mm scale.

There is only a brief description of the battle. The description mentions 20,000 cavalry, 160 two horse chariots, and 80 scythed chariots on the Galatian side. The cavalry number is somewhat suspect as only 20,000 Galatians were suppossed to have migrated into Asia Minor, so it may actually be the t...

I used to play in a number of chess tournaments and they always used a clock. Someone who took way to long to think about their moves early in the game would find themselves in time trouble in the later stages. Using the clock also kept someone who was loosing from draging out the game to an unfinis...

At Raphaia the elephants on both sides were escorted by Cretans and Neo-Cretans. The Seleucids usually had about 40 to 50 men escorting each elephant. Armies of the Macedonian and Punic wars has both the Seleucid and Ptolemy elephants on the cover. They both have a javelinman and a pikeman in the to...

I can't remember where I read this but I do recall one reference as saying that Cretan mercenary archers typically wore red tunics, often with a daker red geometric border. That would be the Cretan mercnaries with Xenephon's 10,000. red was a fairly easy dye to obtain and used by others also. Creta...

Actually it is the number of dice not the number of bases. However, since only two dice are affected in impact and melee there are no dice lost.

per the authors and several other tournament players, base depth does not matter that much. Also, Wargames Factory Romans would only be classed as heavy foot and never medium.

Although Baccus makes great figures, I went with the Rapier Miniatures pike. Their figures are fully compatable with Baccus and their pikes stay straight.

BUT I say that as playable as FOG is - that i...

Th RAW state you must lose dice in proportion if possible. If it is not possible, the only constraint is that you must keep 1 dice for each different target BG or part of the target BG for which a different POA applies. There is no requirement to get as close as possible to proportional if it is no...

Only the first two ranks provide dice for combat - page 93. 3rd and 4th ranks provide POA only. Only first three ranks count when determining hits per base - page 135
