Correct only applies in this case as to using ACE instead of CE. We could end up using the Chinese calendar :)

The correct term should be CE (Common Era). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Era

My choices would be

Marathon 490
Granicus 334
Magnesia 190
Hydaspes 326
The Elephant Victory 273
Tigris 363
Medway 43
Sellasia 222
Trebia 218
Argentoratum 357

it would be interesting to have a pc version of FOG. One thing I noted in the image was that while the Roman infantry was in a nice formation the spacing of the frontage between them was about three times normal and while the barbarians appear to have about a six foot spacing they were in a closer f...

As far as colors/emblems, there is very little other than coins. Some show the ruler wearing a helmet/crown shaped like an elephants head with tusks and trunk. Hercules is shown on the back of some coins or Zeus. Maybe an elephant on the shield.

One of the other members of the group I belong to and I have used this army. Usually we deploy the pikes as three groups of 8. The Bactrian light cavalry may also be better in three groups of 4 instead of two of 6.

Mike and I did use his rules as written during a game. The Hyborian magic rules were also used.

The later Macedonian list dates from 260 b.c. and reflects the changes in equipment brought back by Pyrrhus from Italy, where Macedonian cavalry replaced the lance with a shield and light spears. See pages 20 to 22 for the change in equipment in the Pyrrhic army list as of 274 b.c. "Armies of the Ma...

In case there is any question about how the formation would be in Hammy's example after conforming, the blue stands would be in a rectangular formation with all the front rank stands aligned with the front of the orange stands. None of the blue stands would be behind the flank of the orange stands.

somewhere it states that the bases must be removed that are in contact with the enemy that caused the base loss. So in this case the base would be removed from in front of the BG that caused the pikes to lose the base. In the next turn if the same BG forces the pikes to lose another base it would h...

Whilst in some fantasy literature Heroes attach to a unit an stay there it is not true for all fantasy Heroes. I haven't had a chance to read through all the Ice and Fire lists yet. The suggestion for a mobile hero instead of one permanently attached to a battlegroup is more to fit in with the Lords of the Ring background or some other series. With the Hyborean lists heroes would normally be part of a unit a...

Instead of having a hero as a single base battlegroup, treat this sort of hero as a sort of lesser commander. He would be able to move like a commander, have to join a battlegroup to affect it, must remain with that battlegroup once it is engaged in melee, and be subject to the same possibility of b...

It is very unlikely that this would be used to re-roll anything higher than a three, unless both dice were 4's and a very high score is needed to pass. The odds are 4:2 against getting anything better than a 4 with a 50% chance of getting a lesser score. For a die roll of 3 there is a 50% chance of ...

I have been using 50mmx50mm bases for my 25/28mm fantasy figures. Part of the reason I do this is that the club I belong to has a lot of old 25mm armies based on 2"x4" (50mmx100mm) bases.
