Thinking where you might be going with this I have one question: If the LH evade and you wheel to hit the 3rd rank of LF wouldn't you in essence be wheeling to get 1 base into combat instead of the 2 (LH) you would engage if you went straight ahead? I think you can only wheel to bring more bases in...

1 base to a company will be fairly low level. You could do Hougomont, but not Waterloo.

I use 6mm on 15mm bases. I have quite a few opponents to play against even though most of the FOG players in my area are 15mm gamers. The 25mm gamers in my area have stuck with another rule set. http://folk.uio.no/arnsteio/DBM/ has quite a few photos showing what can be done with 6mm - see the dbx i...

These questions were discussed about a month ago and the definitive reply from the designers was made into a sticky post and I'm sure it was in this section of the forum. It seems to have gone! Does anyone know where it is? Mike probably lost due to the server problem. about one months worth of pos...

I would agree with Hammy about the Zeveda elephants being pretty good. I bought a set for my daughter. Unfortunately they are a little small to go with the 28mm figures we have and the metal ones I have seen are too expensive.

$10.00 US. With shipping costs it would probably be the same amount in pounds.

Re: More "Newbie" Questions

Ok, from start to the close of the store we played a full game of Field of Glory. 3'x5' table as recommended at 750pts. Terrain placement, set up, etc. It was enlightening. So, questions came up. Alot, actually, though only a few made my list for whatever reason. So, as we continue to play and more...

Are you referring to the FAQ or the errata? The errata is only to cover corrections of items in the rule book.

The rules states "minimum distance". Moving them to the opposite side of the infantry would not be the minimum distance as it would exceed their normal move distance due to having to ride around the infantry to get there.

It may have to do with their reputation. Until the Seleucids defeated them at the "Elephant Victory" of 273 b.c. they terrorized their neighbors and were greatly feared.

The initial post comes across as "trolling". I can understand if someone is not happy with some parts of the lists or even all, but not providing any examples or reasons to go with the above statement doesn't cut it.

The two archer figures are for the later Dominate or Foderate armies though they might be used for LF unarmored achers in an eastern Principate army. The Equites Singularis are the Roman Guard Cavalry. For Equites Sagitarii and Cataphractarii you can use Parthians or Palmyrans.
