Re: Need help with the DLC Grand Campaigns

I retried this three more times. I have no trouble holding off the landing on the north coast: they're mostly conscript units. The SE city is also very easy to hold with three or four units. I'm also able to hold off the attacks while holding all the victory cities until turn 15. Turn 15 begi...

Re: 1943 East unit upgrades

I always turn my infantry late game into Grenadiers if they got a movement bonus like quite a few of those special heroes you receive during the campaign. A 15 strength Grenadier with decent stats can one shot a 12 strength T-34-85 in close defense whereas you won't receive the same result with a Ge...

Re: Grand Campaign West

First of all you can import your core from the East campaign which helps a lot especially the SE units are free slots and those heros like Oleh Dir are a big help but importing your core is optional. Your tanks will be pretty much superior to anything that the Allies bring to the table but you're up...

Re: [Suggestion] Heroes with + Ammo perk

I personally think hero bonus are too OP and the game would be better off without these. I used to do a lot of reloads when I started this game just because they're so good, now I just clench my teeth when at Minsk my tanks start turning up with spotting heroes *cry*. I think it would be fine to lea...

Re: Losses in dlc 43 Oboyan unit by unit

From a pure prestige point of view you're better off with an MV then DV in this scenario. It's actually one of the few scenarios where I usually settle for an MV.
And speaking of Pioniere, these are one of my fav. units especially since you don't need to worry about rugged defence.

Re: AT units pros and cons

Despite all their flaws they do have a very high hard attack rating for the prestige they cost. I started to no longer overstrength my tanks but just my AT units instead which started to save me a lot of prestige. With some suppression they can one shot enemy tanks whereas it would take me two tanks...

Re: AT units pros and cons

I always use at least 4 AT units in my core force though I am staying away from PAKs. Panzerjäger do fairly well in the early game with some artillery support which is crucial. In maps like Tatsinskaya it's actually my Stugs which hold the line. However the number of useful AT units is really limit...

Re: Captured units - Use them?

The only ones I sell straight away are T34s and Shermans. The rest I always use until I get the first hero bonus . If it is a decent one I do convert them, if not they're getting disbanded for prestige. The ones I always keep are the SU-122, they're just too good to pass.

Re: Panzer II Flamm: Hot or not?

The II Flamm is fairly decent. I usually upgrade Heinz Rondorf to II Flamm and with some artillery support the tank does tremendous damage but AI tanks won't attack your Infantry in close defence but will attack II Flamm tanks and with a ground defence of 8 they take quite a bit of a beating. So, a ...

Re: Prestige Soft Cap

Yeah I do agree. The soft cap itself isn't very bad and it serves its purpose just the player is completley left in the dark about that hidden difficulty which only impacts the late game but very profoundly. Any sort of indicator during the deployment phase and maybe a seperate slider on the difficu...

Re: Pz III M

It has really more to do about the way the AI chooses its target. Any tank/AT unit with less defense then 20 runs into trouble in the late GC because the AI will just attack those. The same goes for a good (+3) attack hero bonus to some extent, i.e less likely being attacked. And regarding overstren...

Re: Pz III M

Those units with the hero bonuses you mentioned are no longer Pz IIIM since they inherit completely different stats. A Panther with a high def. hero will always be better as a Tiger 1 in late game but without that hero bonus it will start takeing a lot of damage as soon as IS-2s show up.

Re: GC 45 West - Unplayable with Prestige Soft Cap?

I found GC 45 West fairly hard as well. With the new entrenchment rules it takes a long time to "dig" those heavily entrenched infantry and AT units out, especially with the not so favourite weather conditions. You also need a lot of infantry units in 45 West as well whereas the two previous campaig...

Re: Prestige Soft Cap

I started to really like the StuH42 due to its switch mode. The values aren't that great but with a decent attack hero they can really help finishing weak enemy units off.

Re: GC '44 East

It's true that SE units are pretty random. Just disband your infantry and wait until you'll get a tank allocated. In case I get an infantry I usually reload the campaign and continue playing until I have some more luck in the upcoming scenarios. There are so many good infantry units you get for free...

Yes. Berlin is def. the hardest scenario in 45 East and that was the one where I blew all the prestige I had (~3.2k) to overstrength most of my Tiger II's to 13-14.

Re: Prestige Soft Cap

These are my prestige numbers for 44/45 the last time I did the GC on Rommel: Start of 44 East including replacements ~22k Start of 45 East including replacements ~3.5k So this might give you some idea. 45 East is actually a lot easier then 44 so I just managed to overstrength most of my units to 11...

Re: Panzer Corp Difficulty

Well you say Oleh Dir is unbalanced but on the other hand you're rerolling hero stats? I don't think Oleh Dir is unbalanced but rerolled stats are, especially on tanks. You say Rommel is pretty easy as well. May I ask how far did you play on that difficulty with the new rules and the prestige soft c...
