At impact the bowman unit turns contacted elements to face the LH [(as per rules) copy this to the end of each of the following sentances]. Fight impact Assuming the LH hang on in there they can expand 1 element width to form an overlap. The bowmen (assuming they are not contacted elsewhere) can mov...

Sorry to get technical  Statistically the distribution curve for the larger unit (assuming its fighting with all possible elements) is wider and flatter than that for a small unit. Therefore its probability of a fluke, extremely bad or extremely good, result is much lower than a smaller unit (i...

Beware of convincing yourself of Samurai super troops None of the FoG armies have ever gone that way Legions may be good but they still get beaten - regularly Mongols can get shot to pieces Unbeatable French Heavy Knights get whopped English longbows - well I've not played these a lot so don't know ...

A recent BBC Radio 4 programme on infinity gives us all hope. 8) In an infinite universe of infinite universes an exact copy of me exists and in that universe I won :D - even if in this universe I lost. So I can take great confort from knowing in this alternative reality I always throw 6's. :l...

Personally I still don't think any of the contributors have it right!

Any scoring system should start with prime numbers, add a dash of infinititis, divide this by relatavistic theory and mutiply the coefficient by the the speed of light in an alternative universe. 8)

Irondog I have both Mongols and Samurai in 15mm at that scale you are going to have a hard time of it in 25mm you need to fill the board edge to edge and keep moving forward (without taking shooty losses) until the Mongols have no room left to run away and commit to melee. Then all you have to do is...

My view is leave well enough alone.
The current system is simple (this helps) and by deploying in 1/4's somewhat represents the commanders choices.
If one wants to replicate a more complicated process then that is between consenting adults and should be kept indoors.

Bertalucci: try zooming out! I encountered exactly the same problem as you: all I seemed to have was a blank screen. So I right-clicked the link, and saved the pdf file that way. When I opened it in Acrobat Reader, it was obvious that what I'd been seeing was the blank space in the upper left corne...

Which list is this based on? Doesn't look like any I have read! Based on Heian - Muromachi list >>>> Your Ashigaru would be classed as Bushi (same armour and armament) Every Samurai unit would require you to have an accompanying Ashigaru Unit (which could only be Protected with a choice of Poor or A...

Re: What does "Single Line" mean

In the army books in the back it says that only one unit can be used per single line unless stated in the army design notes. Does that mean by line divisions on the far left? In other words by name? So if "Warriors" is the name on the left and it shows Medium foot, average/poor, drilled/undrilled, ...

Washington Wargames Club - Tyne and Wear not DC

Small club but we do play almost anything.

Lots of interest in FoG AM and FoG R (3 playtesters)

We meet at Columbia Village Hall all day (2 games) on a Sunday every three weeks.
I know its odd but it suits married members.

PM me for more details
