The 70% RoF of the 210mm and 5 ammo means it isn't quite such an impovement as it looks over the 170mm. But then I haven't played 44East for a while, and the need to damage heavy soviet tanks might change my views very quickly.

I like your attitude (not sure your troops would agree!). It will be a challenge maintaining that enthusaistic aggression through and beyond 1942, but you might as well give it a go.

The Kampfgruppe looks good.
I have used similar ones with a flammpanzer in place of the pioneer.

I'd be giving Rudel a mission of flattening any T34s threatening this.

A range hero Stug is really good in 41 and 42. Tons of ammo, decent armour and 110%ROF and faster than the Sturmpanzer. Artillery gains the first two stars so fast it's usually better to buy new rather than converting out of family - unless you want to benefit from a hero (eg range on a Stug or nebe...

OOB allows a 2D option, which I use, but the contrast is still not as good as in Panzer Corps. For another example, good black and white TV and films are still good now despite being less realistic than colour. The range is nice, but move hero makes t is easier to get into position to provide defensive fire (I'm sure I saw some conscripts approaching ....) so even better than range.

I'm not against 3D as such, but for a game like Panzer Corps clarity and a user-friendly interface are more important. As an example, OOB has some nice concepts (the supply lines and engineer abilities spring to mind) but the lower contrast between units and terrain makes it visually less appealing ...

Who'd have thought that the idea of playing a couple of SE Infantry out of 7 or 8 SE units would cause a stir? Panzerjagers are tricky - you have to remember that they are mobile AT guns not tanks or Stug 3G. Once at about 3* they get quite handy but are still really defensive units and for mopping up. And yes, I know why people want only SE tanks, but don't you also want heroe'd up 4 and 5* infantry you can...

My favourite german infantry for defence is SE Grenadiers as the extra ammo makes a useful difference. The 43 version with a move hero makes a great attacking force against soft targets, even if not fully suppressed. Two pioneers with a move hero artillery also make a good team for clearing entrench...

The fast 20mm is good because it can get almost anywhere but doesn't ht very hard, so you will still take hits.
