Re: Cancon FoGN Tournament - Dan's Report

Game 5: I was defender and managed to assemble fortress Spain again against Geoff's French corps. Geoff spent an hour deploying as he had no clue what to do as it turned out his 4 units of shock heavy cavalry really don't like fighting in difficult terrain. Wow Dan, just have to defend myself here....

Re: Australian Championships TO's Report

Fantastic competition Tyler. What really stood out for me was the free exchange of rule interpretations and advice that was flowing between the players from all the different regions that people came from. I think everyone learned a lot.

Cool, thanks.

Re: Australian Championships at Cancon, Canberra, January 20

Hey Tyler, ready to submit my list. Just wondering if we have to specify the divisional structure? Happy to do so but do we have to specify a set divisional structure or can we change our list each game?

Playing Cancon this year. If I charge anyone who has Cossacks I will let them evade. Crazy not to.

It would be nice to see the points changes that you will be proposing. I can't remember seeing an overall consensus in any one thread.

Re: Defensive fire when in contact

Just checked the latest errata. Unless I missed something you can still shoot at 6 base units in combat at one edge/corner. No 6 base infantry units for me then!

Here's hoping the new errata comes out before Cancon at the end of January.

Already signed up and madly painting my 1815 Prussians for the tournament. Only had a handful of games ( using substituted figures - I feel dirty ) but am loving it.

Re: Newbie questions

If you are going to do thirty years war Germans you can't go past the Khurasan miniatures range. They are a bit pricey but we'll worth it.

Re: Louis XIV vs TYW Germans

Yep, you have my list correct all except for the Tercio's. They were late not early. My list was the early TYW Catholic German.
It was certainly a fun game. Casualties everywhere which is what I like. Sadly more of them were mine in the end :(

Didn't realise you played FOG N. Now that I come to think about it, I don't recall him saying 'these are not the droids you are looking for' but he may have... No mate, you just got bitten by the same bug that has seen me order about 600 Prussian 15mm figures without having played a game of FOGN :)...

Re: Davout at Auerstadt

No need to worry mate, my Prussians won't be having any Cuirrassiers any time soon :)
Prepare for Hussars, Dragoons and Uhlans - more than likely a fair proportion of the awesome Landwehr cavalry!

Re: Mounted

I think you have to look at the value of horse vs determined horse strictly in the instance where both are the same armour class. morale and weaponry. In this situation if determined horse come into contact with horse in a situation where no other BG's are interfering then unless they are very unluc...

Re: Khurasan releases Thirty Years War Cavalry - GUN ADDED

Great news Khurasan. This will all but complete my TYW Catholic German army. Do you have any plans to expand this range beyond these last ones? I remeber you talking about some Polish Cossacks at one point.

The hard evidence is that the blanket prohibition on page 22 is only exempted explicitly (as required by the wording on page 22) when dealing with bases seperated during a partial interpenetration. That is sufficient evidence for me. Let us be clear that there are many instances where a BG can be f...
