We discussed this very issue yesterday as we played with our Warrior based commanders. After some consideration, it seemed that there were some nice advantages to round bases: - Clearly different from other battlegroup bases - As a commander's move is 7MU any direction, it is much easier to move the...

Rerolls and added rolls (CMT, Cohesion)

The first of the questions from yesterday's game has to do with 2d6 rolls and quality re-rolls. When re-rolling when adding 2 dice together, do you reroll when: A. The sum of the the dice is a re-rollable number B. Either die if it is a rerollable number. We assumed B, but wanted to make sure. Thank...

Andy, I'm about to put that very question to the test myself tomorrow. My Wallachian army is going to be masquerading as Bosporans (as the list is the best fit I can find) and wil be going out with 24 bases against my friend Noel's Alexandrian Macedonians, who will be masquerading as Selucids or Lat...

Quick Ref Sheets as PDFs

Any problems providing the quick ref sheet as PDFs or some such thing? I'm loathe to crack the spine to photocopy them for play sheets.

Again, its nice to hear you think that pre-measuring is a good idea, but I'd also like to heartily recommend it as a candidate for the FAQ or Errata. Anything that helps remove a potential cause of disagreement between two players is essential. >If you find it fun to guestimate instead and feel that...

Rounding and HPxB

Not sure on this one. Is there rounding when determining whether a battlegroup took 1 HP2B/3B?

For instance, If a BG with 4 bases is to meet the 1 HP3B criteria, does it take 2 hits or one, as it doesn't have a full 3 bases...

Thank you again gentlemen. It may well be worth considering that those who have played DBM, Warrior, etc, will be of the same mind as you, but that those new to the game may well have had another experience. Many skirmish scale games don't allow pre-measuring for instance (Daft to my mind, but hey, ...

Thanks. Does that mean that the rules for how this will be handled in a tournament are up to an organizer, or do you have to argue it out on a game by game basis with your opponents. I hope its the former at least, as the latter can make for a pretty crappy day. Cole All in favour of consistency, wh...

Rules for measurement Q/comment?

When moving, deploying, what is the rule for the measurement of distances? Are you allowed to pre-measure distances to ensure you've left a battlegroup sized hole in the line, or moved to just within missile fire or charge range, or are you expected to guess and hope for the best? I ask because ther...

Initial Impressions and Questions

Hello, I just picked up the rulebook and first two army books the other day. I must say my initial impression of the product was very good, appearance, organization, etc, were all outstanding. Now that I have a few reads through the rules under my belt it also appears that the rules are clear, well ...
