Unit condition flag error in turn?

Ive noticed that when a unit is attacked several times within a turn, for each attack its flag returns to pristine condition (so appears undamaged) despite its losses in previous combats in that turn..

Monitoring progress of other Nations

Hi sorry, to post again, is there a way to call up victory progression of rival nations other than wait for the occasional news pop-up? I see it pop up from time to time as a message and warning (Nation X has achieved 90% victory conditions..) but I'm running neck and neck with one Nation in my curr...

Re: City size.

Where can I see growth rate or shrinkage for each city? I'm new to the game and figuring out what I need to do to stop my cities shrinking, but I can't see anywhere something like a bar showing when my city will grow to the next level or what factors are directly causing them to lose size. My main i...

Re: Like the game, but map angles and navigation are baffling me.

Hi Pavel, yes you were right! it was a bug, thank heavens.. On re-starting the game this morning (same saved game) the view angles are smooth and movement is quick. Yesterday the view angle deteriorated and was making the game map look like a thin slice taken at distance and at low level which was c...

Like the game, but map angles and navigation are baffling me.

Generally speaking im enjoying the game and see its depth and potential, but I am having real problems with the map navigation and isometric view angles and options to change these. In the early stages of my first game, playing as Rome, everything seemed fine. I could zoom in and out on units and ci...

Given up - for now (partly my own fault), but with reasons & discussion.

One upon a time, and not that long ago OoB was my first Strategic go-too game. I have pretty much every tactical and strategic wargame, some much more complex and micro managed than OoB (I say that as complexity doesn't always equate to depth), and much like Strategic Command, OoB's design is elegan...

Out of interest, are there any changes to the base game that came along with the release of with Endsieg? Balance, resources, Unity version, etc..

Yea cheers for that. Sends shivers, looks almost a modern tank, especially the rear mounted gun version, looks like a Gulf War US Mob Arty piece. If this war had gone on another year.....

Re: Main screen

I do not think that it is absolutely necessary to have a resolution 2048 x1152. The images of my previous post had a resolution 1920 x 1080. It is the usual resolution of my screen. What is important it is to have the good size with the height and the width, the game engine should resize the image ...

A little confused here (nothing unusual :)) does this discussion relate to Erik's 'US Naval Campaign (1941-46)' ?

cheers.

Tips for new and old players alike - turn your game around if you're having problems!

Hi folks, These are not my tips & suggestions, they are those of fellow players that I have compiled as I was having terrible problems when I increased my difficulty challenge to level 3 from level 2 (default) and couldn't win a battle! I was in despair, considering giving OoB a 'lengthy break' but ...

Re: Just sharing: why I haven't played one of my favourite games for months...

Does anyone else think these tips are useful? It certainly turned my game around when I upgraded a level from regular and depressing defeat to a decent amount of success. As a veteran player I've been frankly gobsmacked how by applying these (broadly) 6 principles my game has turned around. Maybe my...

Re: Just sharing: why I haven't played one of my favourite games for months...

Hi folks, I just want to send out a big thank you to this amazingly helpful community. The tips I've received, some I was aware off, some will be obvious to many, have nevertheless proved to be indispensable. I've played OoB for years but managed to get bogged down and frustrated of late having uppe...

Re: Just sharing: why I haven't played one of my favourite games for months...

Hehe ;) As a general point - in my experience it is easy to overextend and leave own units in vulnerable positions. So when advancing/attacking it's worth to consider where it leaves you afterwards, and how exposed you are to the enemy when it's the AI's turn. You might have noticed the AI is keen ...

Ppl who are struggling can change the difficulty before each scn in a cam, so could temporarily go up or down for any individual scn.

Re: Just sharing: why I haven't played one of my favourite games for months...

Is it not better to show someone the right way to do something than embarrass someone by posting the wrong way then taking it apart? That depends on the individual. Some learn better on their own, some do better with "coaches"... Anyway, it's entirely optional, but I would hope someone who's doing ...

i think most new players don't use AT units as "cover". It could be usefuf to see a red range of cover when we put the mouse on it.
I think that's a great idea / reminder / hint
