Classical Indian Ally Question

The Classical Indian List on page 34 of Immortal Fire allows up to three Indian Allied commanders. I understand that allows Classical Indian Allies but does that also allow Mountain Indian Allies? Building a Classical Indian Army and just want to make sure I have all of the options. Thanks in advanc...

Hammy & Marc, You make some good points. I am okay with the IWF being the grand slam but I think 1 major event per country is a bit harsh. Weightings are IMO something that can be changed but ideally should be made clear at the start of the year not after the event especially where international tra...

I support Hammy's idea of onely one grand slam and that being the IWF. Historicon's role as a grand slam and (so far) the only major is questionable. Historicon held three different comps and none had more than 18 participants. It seems that your point is that simple because of Historicon's historic...

What defines an event as a major? I know of at least three events in the US that had as more participants than Historicon which had no more than 18 in any one event. Is the major to be declared simply by prestige? I played in the Atlanta Tourney and my finish (along with Mike Mills) is clearly shown...

10. Jeff Dewitt 41.8 Sassanid
FYI - Jeff Dewitt did not play Sassanid. I believe he actually played Fatimid Egytian.

I, Chris The Tasty Numidian Anders, was the only true Persian on the field.

In the book it does not, but historically the empire was reduced to vassaldom to the Hephalite (have to check that spelling) Huns not to mention the numerous civil wars. IMHO, it would seem the civil war armies would be better represented by Sassanid allies rather than subs.

Good question. Apparently the writers did not feel there was enough evidence to warrant the design of a Sassanid ally list. I would, however, like to hear their perspective though.

Hannibal? I thought the generals had to be Roman. What gives? Favoritism to your little furry pal? How much did he pay?

In a Pure Numidian List, the player really does not have much of choice but to bring a large number of BGs because of the general quality of the troops. The best the Numidian can get is a 4 stand battlegroup of Superior cav IF you run them as Juba I or a Principate Roman Ally for Juba II. In a theme...

Tournament Countback

Hey Gino,

I have thought for a while that there should be a mechanism to include sacked camps and generals killed in some fashion. Countback seems to be one good way to do so.

I used a cheap flat grey spray paint from Dollar General to paint the base color. Then I painted the details and finished it off with a dip of Minwax Polyshades Tudor stain to darken it and get into the folds.

Numdian Skin Color

For my Numidians, I used a black undercoat and then dry brushed the skin with DeltaCeramcoat Spice Brown (020459). You can pick it up at Walmart, Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Look in the craft paint section.
