Re: New 30yr war figures

I've been following the release news on these little metal chaps, and they are now meant to be available.

Now it might be that my Spanish isn't up to it (not unlikely), but since I want to buy some, how do I go about it?

Re: Scotland referendum

Labour won an outright majority of seats in England in 1997, 2001 and 2005. Scots seats have only altered the result for a majority in 2 ( or maybe 3 or 4, depending on which sources you check  pro Yes say 2, pro No say 4) elections since the war, It's nearly always the case that a Labour majo...

Re: The wholly unofficial points revision sticky …

Aaah - that may well be true as well. Good spot. Although, as "salvo" shot the impact on their shooting ability of losing one base of shot is to immediately halve their shooting all ranges, whereas normal shot are halved at long range but only reduced by 25% at short range. So it's still somewhat o...

There's an ally list for the Early Spanish after the Later Austrian and German States list in Clash of Empires, page 82.

Re: Commanded Shot

Have we got these right under the rules as it seems to me: - I have never seen them actually used alongside mounted to provide protection John Actually, you have  I used them against you at Square Go (ETYW Swedes) when you used the Sudanese - my right flank, supporting a unit of Mounted Arqu...

Re: Troops behind guns behind defenses

I'd say No, because they are already there, they don't have to move - the assumption is that the supporting infantry actually occupy the same footprint as the guns but are placed behind as a game mechanic due to the oversized bases of the gun models.

How late, timewise, could these figures be used?

Are they suitable for the later Koryo armies?

War of the Roses Allies Query

Yet again I've confused myself regarding Allied contingents, it's the bit about internal Allies taking the minimum and maximum form the main list - is it legal to take 2 internal WotR Allies and have each of them take 16 bases of Retinue Longbow and thereby leave the "main" part of the army with none?

Re: Field Fortifications

The rule: Troops defending FF cannot be charged in the flank/rear across the fortifications... p 157, bp 3 So you have to have the FFs protecting your flank and/or rear. I assume the same rule applies for frontal defence, ie the defenders have to be in edge to edge contact with the FFs. Dave Found ...

Field Fortifications

Checking how these work regarding flank attacks as I've never really considered them before - the rules say you can't be charged in the flank if defending FF. I am assuming that this is only when you have placed a FF base at an angle between 90 and 180 degrees at the end under attack and not simply ...

Re: Early Tercios, Break offs and Artillery.

It does seem odd (plus it benefits the loser) and leads back to previous discussions on captured artillery - it still strikes me that simply removing captured artillery is the simplest way to resolve it. I understand the counter-argument about the historical (albeit very rare) use of captured artill...
