Re: rumors "available" about the Panzer Corps successor?
Recently, I (and many others!) made excellent suggestions how to improve PC when asked directly by Staff, then most of us were very disappointed when few of these excellent suggestions and fixes were carried out for the latest patch(1.30). Hopefully, they'll show up in PC II, but I make the cynical ...

Re: Big discussion about strategy/tactics gaming morality
Difficult as it is for some, it is true that the vast majority of weapons in use today by the USA, a great force for Peace, owe direct lineage from weapons of the Wehrmacht. America's great manned space program and derived nuclear weapon rocket force got its birth and headstart from former Nazi part...

Re: Recon airplanes in PzC
Yes, you are correct, sir.
"Young Rudel" appears in Poznan '39, the recon Stuka version.
It's the "older Rudel", the mega dive bomber version that appears in Minsk '41.
Good head.

Re: Recon airplanes in PzC
The Avro Anson recon plane given the US in US Corps (spotting range 3) is invaluable in that DLC series, as my experience is that spotting the massed "kamikaze panzer attack" groups AHEAD OF TIME then aggressively attacking them by air (prestige saver!), before they get triggered, is vital for campa...

Re: US Corps AAR
Spoiler continued: Recon spotting (3 hexes) ineffective in spotting hidden triggered kamikaze panzer attack groups. They will be far enough behind line to NOT be spotted by your recon. Next turn Tiger II (5 hex move) and especially Panther and Jagdpanther (8 hex) cripple your late model Shermans, co...

Re: Panzer Corps 2
Relatedly, in battles that went better than expected I would let the last city or next to last city spam units then use my newbie or low experienced units (to gain experience) to wipe them out, and one or two more times if enough remaining turns and enemy prestige. The idea was that I was draining A...

Re: US Corps AAR
Spoiler:
Use the recon plane in two move fashion (spot, move away) to spot enemy. Bomb the hell out of 'em.
Note: the recon plane critical rest of war, **escort** after this battle, key to spot hidden kamikaze panzer attack staging areas before triggered.

Re: GC upgrade project replays
The other very very important thing to mention on US Corps amongst the other glaring play imbalances I've mentioned previously is the very very inaccurate combat loss/damage results on "normal" combat randomness settings such as a roll result of -4/-8 for a predicted -1/-7 ground attack for example ...

US Corps unit choice spoiler: These (3) tanks, which will be upgraded, should be the very last that you acquire (other than captured, gifted). Tank destroyers and tank destroyers only can stand up to German heavies (AGGRESSIVE spotting required), backed up with artillery as often as possible. I kno...

Re: Soviet Corps Trains
Sorry almost overlooked the answer. Thanks for the feedback and of course I will play US Corps. At the moment the plan is to go from Afrika Corps to the GC and from Soviet Corps to US Corps. Will take some time, but I will go through everthing :) There are significant things you'll need to know bef...

Oh, dump all your bombers, disband them for prestige which you'll need desperately as **you'll need air superiority fighters and AA.** 88's double as antitank.

Stage a fighting withdrawal back to a **concentrated tight** supporting defense on the "island" **behind rivers** containing the führer bunker but maintain defense of the one airfield (critical to refuel)...a bruckenpioniere provides back and forth access to the "island." 90% of your battles should ...

Re: US Grand Campaign SE Units
Get used to the Jugs! The P-47 is your workhorse since by the time P-51s come online, it is way too expensive to upgrade experienced P-47s to P-51s. In addition, your newbie P-51s are AI kill magnets. My only recourse has been to use the cheat to add one or two core US AA units to each battle. To tr...

Re: US corps paratroop deployment or not?
I hear you. But: If you do retain one or two paras they make for an *interesting* battle. If you have prestige you can convert other (experienced!) infantry types to para and vice versa. US Corps battles can be long boring slogs across rough terrain and rivers. As you know, a good strategy is to pla...

captainjack: "I'm part way through US 44/45. The main problem seems to be lack of prestige. Soviet Corps and Allied Corps are if anything over-generous, but US Corps is extremely tight fisted." YES!! Aachen kills you, that is if you've survived FAILaise! Despite over-strength and prudent set-up. Hea...

Re: US corps paratroop deployment or not?
I hear you. The briefings before each battle should SAY what your capabilities are..whether you can paradrop or not. I was ready to quit the US Corps module entirely when the Falaise (FAILaise) briefing contained NO hint of an immediate strong panzer attack destroying entire many-starred many-heroed...

US corps paratroop deployment or not?
Some battles allow US paratroops to deploy airborne, some don't. There's even a problem when deployed on ground on an airfield. The paratroops refuse to go airborne even after deployment done and battle started. Then you are stuck with say two airborne units without transport way behind the front. N...

Re: Panzer Corps 1.30 patch!
Seems a lot of confusion where any of this stuff is found. The special abilities icons are useful for brand new players but not experienced ones. Once AGAIN, **why was there no fix to the right-click unit data** that might adjust for hero bonuses?! New units appear the same as many-heroed units. Whe...
