And I would like to see anybody that could be bothered to dig a 9 foot ditch for a camp in one night. A 9' ditch would supply a 18' redoubt. Something you'd need a siege engine to take. A 3' ditch supplies a 6' redoubt. It works like this: ---------= Ground level. You take a shovel and you dig a ho...

Whether these add up to sufficient evidence to change the rules is something for you to decide but there certainly seems to be plenty of evidence for elephants attacking fortifications of all kinds. Yes, exactly. All you've done is quote a source that states that elephants successfully assaulted a ...

Hi Guys,

Just a reminder only a week until Armageddon. I, for one, am looking forward to it. I'm sure I'm going to get my arse whomped, but that's ok - so long as I enjoy myself.

Hope to see you all there.

You could use the "bigger" guys as elites and the "smaller" guys as average :D Ian are you using the 10mm stuff at MOAB? I am interested in how it all looks. I have been thinking of Hussites in 10mm - could be the only way to buy all the war wagons. Dunno if I'll be at MOAB yet - won't know until I...

But a Pecheneg wagon circle counts as a fortified camp. I've seen those in the films. If you don't get dizzy its the equivalent of mounted attackers not rolling a 6. Now you're narrowing the field even further. It was "write a special rule for the one in a thousand chance of an Elephant attacking a...

and all knocked up over night by an army on the march no doubt Basically - yes. 1 - You're talking about an ARMY, not 3 guys with entrenching tools. 2 - Even with just an entrenching tool 1 guy can build a slit trench big enough for himself to hide in just over an hour (personal experience here, in...

To be fair they always said it was more of a Seven Samurai army than a real historical one :)
So you can have seven samurai and a bunch of peasants in your WAB army?

In my opinion MF because they weren’t used like troops for skirmishing. There is only the option for MF IMHO. Even if they were used in numbers more akin to light infantry in some situations, they were not used that way, and so you would end up with wargames armies using systems and tactics that th...

I also use 6mm and I think it looks better. Overall, I'd agree, but I find that with 6mm the size disparity against 15's is too much and it looks totally wrong. With the 10's it seems to look better when playing against 15's. Sure, they are very clearly different sized figures, but except in the ex...

Re: Equality for Elephants!

I disagree. Its not a full redoubt. And there is not a 45 degree hill. The only guy throwing stuff at them are the ones that can do nothing to protect the camp when it is unfortified. And, in this forum, things the owners found inconcievable appear to happen quite often. http://www.travelpod.com/tr...

I was ever wandering about the reason elves, like Legolas in LoTR, whom ever lived in forests have a such skill in archery. How can they train in distant shooting with all that trees which hinder the sight? Reminds me of a story I heard about a guy who was caddying for a professional golfer....

Re: Equality for Elephants!

Don't you think Elephants should be treated like "foot" rather than like "mounted" when it comes to bashing their way into a fortified camp? That is, they would sack the camp with a 5-6 like foot rather than with a 6 like other mounted. ( pg 88 ) Terry G. Disagree Terry. A Fortified Camp isn't just...

Why don't the 'Dominate' period have fortified camps? They have the option. The slackers, and most wargamers won't bother, as its hard work, they haven't got one or found something else to spend the points on 12 years in the army taught me quite a few things. One of which was don't dig unless you h...
