Re: Rome must be driven from our lands! A Bructeri AAR

I tried this a third time, this time reducing the Chauci to NOOB difficulty, and the game overall to EASY. Did much better with the Bructeri. Population growth is a continuing problem now, although I had just enough resources. The Chauci are still a problem, however, and once they join with the Fris...

Re: Where to start?

My fault, focusing on the wars in my AARs. I gave a skewed impression. There are often periods of peace, with the exception of that Bructeri AAR. I had one custom map game on EASY diffuculty where there was a good mix of long peace and some wars. In the historical scenario, you can set the AI diffic...

Re: Peloponnese scenario

Cool map, and set of factions. It will be interesting to see how the AI sorts things out over a series of runthroughs. Now I'm going to have to read up on the Pelopennesian War to understand what's going on. I look forward to your updates. You'll probably get a lot more attention for it by putting i...

Re: Rome must be driven from our lands! A Bructeri AAR

I revisited the Bructeri for a new game, trying to correct my play. 1) Their northern neighbor, the Chauci, are relentless. They take a whipping, and keep on keeping on. They will not accept peace. So there is a constant drain on the Bructeri economy. Especially iron resources, because both iron min...

Re: Reuniting Egypt, Orient Mod, mini AAR

In the 40th year after reunification, Egypt has regained it's lands in Palestine, with the exception of those areas held by Tyrus. Since Egypt has a 'Brothers in Arms' alliance with Tyrus, and since Tyrus now exists only at the sufferance of Egypt, Pharoah considers those lands part of the realm. Ph...

An event I never saw before. Is this unique to the Orient mod?

I don't have much to say, because I'm not a 'creator,' or modder, other than this is another example of your excellence in your craft. I don't know of many, if any other, developer who is as ready to answer whatever call comes up from the players. Kudos.

Re: Reuniting Egypt, Orient Mod, mini AAR

I'm lagging behind in building cities.

I should probably have played this on a higher difficulty level to get a bit less resources.

Re: Why I absolutely hate Steam.....

Steam is great. I've had games from there for 10 years, since Railworks came out there. Never had a problem with it, always found it easy to use and friendly. I also buy from matrix and Slitherine, but always get a steam key.

Re: Reuniting Egypt, Orient Mod, mini AAR

927 Palestine has been taken, but Israel still has control of part of Syria. Egypt was quick to accept peace when it came up against a strong Babylonian force. Tyrus has been a long-term ally, but when the time comes, if they don't accept assimilation or federation, Egypt will attempt to purloin the...

Re: Reuniting Egypt, Orient Mod, mini AAR

Victory over the traitorous priests! It was a hard-fought victory, over a thirty year period, and at one point the Pharoah's forces were down to ... zero. Fortunately, the Upper Egypt forces sole remaining field unit was so damaged that it had to limp back to Thebes for repair. Pharoah had done one ...

It almost did have a very abrupt end. See the next post, on how close it was. I have saturation up a bit, producing brighter colors I think.

Reuniting Egypt, Orient Mod, mini AAR

I saw a screenshot by the Orient Mod creator, Hiro, in the Steam Community Hub. It was one of Upper Egypt, controlled by the Priests of Amun, reuniting Egypt under their rule. So I decided to try the scenario/mod as Lower Egypt, attempting to reunite the land under the Pharoah's leadership.

You can also right click on another countrie's banner, when on the diplomacy map, and the relationship lines and statuses show those of that country instead of the player country.
