Rome must be driven from our lands! A Bructeri AAR

The Netherlands Rhineland mod Battle over the Rhenus, holds a lot of different options for Aggressors play. 19 different historical factions, including Rome, with its outposts, garrissons and forts, and many of the 'barbarian' tribes of the region. I'm going TRY to explore one option with the Bructe...

Re: Requests/Suggestions Thread

Those random event suggestions are good, if rarely seen. The undo has been nixed by Pavel in several different threads. I don't miss the undo. I figure in real life mistakes were made, and couldn't be undone. Troops don't always follow orders, administrators sometimes make less than wise decisions.

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

Haha, yeah, I may continue it to the crushing of the Ptolemys. I just wanted to glory in the victory for a while. What I'd really like to see is whether it would indeed require me to crush the Ptolemys. This game has the capability for a more historical outcome, ie Rome forcing Egypt into it's fold ...

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

Final note. I Really enjoyed playing this game. I'm going for a barbarian state next, or maybe a custom world. There are so many possibilities. Now I hope others will share their own AARs.

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

In the year 112 Rome received emmissaries from the Ptolemys, offering peace. The Senate debated, then refused, declaring that what the Ptolemys started, Rome would end. But then the Spartans sent a messenger from Mount Parnassus, from the very Sanctuary of Apollo: 783210_20180923174544_1.jpg It must...

Most players would really be pissed off if their 30 hours of hard work would be shattered in 1 sec. ;)
I like that kind of tension. I know I'm going to win my current AAR, but there's a struggle involved.

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

213 The war progresses slowly. Carthage has been driven out of Spain, and Roman troops are savaging the Carthagenian mainland. It's burn and slash against that long-time foe. However the struggle against the Germanic Tribes is difficult. One Legion and its cavalry Auxilliaries have been lost in the ...

Re: Finally Got the Game!

By improving to paved roads to connect gold mines to blacksmiths and cities, improved blacksmiths, trading and economical cities, and always having trade for gold, and adjusting the birthrate slider, gold can be maximized. The birthrate slider is the quickfix for getting a shot of gold, in my experi...

Re: Finally Got the Game!

1 b should not happen. I've had free passage treaties with lots of countries and never saw that. It's either a bug or ... did you double-check the treaty conditions? Perchance did that country arbitrarily end the treaty without you knowing it, and and then advanced into your territory? If you have a...

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

Four years into the war, here is the Roman strategy. Essentially we are going to crush the Ptolemys' allies, then muster a concerted attack against their heatlands in Asia, Egypt, and Libya.

Rome's strongest Legions ever are undergoing training and equipping.

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

Roman forces are being mobilized out of garrison stance all over the Republic and its allied lands. New military forces are being formed, and several cities are building the infrastructure to produce Legionnaires. We have a full treasury that has been accumulating throughout the years of peace.

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

The Year of the Deluge! In 120, almost 15 years of peace has ended with a cataclysm of events. The Senate questioned the alliance of the Ptolemies with the German Tribes, wondering if that was part of some future plan against Rome. Now that suspicion is confirmed. war.jpg The sneak attack by the Pto...

Re: A Brief Alternative History of the Roman Republic

123

The era of peace continues. Improvements to the realm continue. Rome is following a non-interventionist foreign policy. The only entanglement is with the Macedonians, with whom we have a defensive pact.

This year news arrives of what could be a potential future problem:
