Re: FoG:R Update - BG autobreak
The solution adopted in Fog AM for those who don't know it was to restrict the army break point to 1 per 50 points of army size, so a 700 point army breaks on a maximum of 14 AP losses (if it has 14 or more BG, otherwise as now). 800 point armies have a corresponding maximum of 16 and 900 have 18. ...

Re: Mounted Points
I certainly think cavalry should be less than horse. Turk and Indian armies are currently not viable in open competitions.
There is no reason why they should not be, after all it was not unheard of them to beat European armies.

Re: Commanded Shot
Has anyone thought of treating horse and commanded shot as a new formation within the rules, much like a pike and shot unit? You join the units up at time of writing army list and then they have to remain together for the whole game. This would prevent them going off and doing their own thing. As th...

Re: FoG:R Update - Better Armour PoA
Are we forgetting the armoured cavalry with sword here. From what I have read about battles between the Turks and the Austrian, unless the Austrians had armour for heads and arms, they suffered to the superior sword skills of the Turks. Current the pistols would have advantage every round.

Surely if the reason for the tidy up of the rules is to encourage more people to play 'simple is best'.
Just remove them.

Re: More competitions in 2017 without the 50:50 rule?
I tried all the various Indian armies in the early days of FoGR and then put them away.
They only come out now in themed competitions that don't include any Europeans.
Being one of the people who have voted with their feet, my comments were my attempt to help.

Re: What two things would a spruced up FoG:R have to have?
I think if this job is worth doing then you will need more than two, but here are my two 1. Look at points costs. Dragoons are way too cheap for all their abilities. How can superior, heavily armoured, pistol, pistol, horse be the same cost as superior, armoured, bow, sword, cavalry. The horse are u...

Re: More competitions in 2017 without the 50:50 rule?
Mounted armies get hit far worse by 50/ 50 rule as 4's of cavalry dont work and 6's are to expensive, whereas 6's of foot do work Not sure to many of us will agree with this. It is your combination of mounted, dragoons and artillery that is so effective, so I think any discussion must include all t...

Re: Oxford 25 mm Competition - 29th and 30th October 2016
I for one think the rules could do with a spruce up. There would appear to have been many good ideas left on the cutting room floor with the 1st edition. The balance between foot and mounted needs to be looked at. Competitions have become predictable and so hold no enjoyment for those taking part, e...

Richard tells me he just ignored the instructions given out in the past and just played on. We will know for another year.

Nothing to panic about, just children problems. As I haven't played since November last year, I will try and play as quickly as possible...

Be up in the next 1/2 hour, along with the draw so you can all plot your opponents down fall
