Here is my assessment- OffSp: Pro- POA when charged, vs. foot when charging, and vs. non-shock mtd when charging. No sword or skilled sword while steady and + POA just for being spear in Melee. Con- Shock troops. HeavWeap: Pros- POA versus foot, negates enemy armor POA. Non-Shock troops. Con- No POA...

Unless Harold has an IC umbrella? --which might make this pointless. Ian I do not think this is a bad assumption. Harold Godwinson marched his army all the way to Stamford and defeated Harald Hardrada, a noted commander in his own right. Then hard-marched his army back to Hastings. There he was abl...

I am liking later Vikings in France, with an ally of Early Medieval French. They will be lacking in rough terrain troops though. But lots of solid OffSpear and a solid BL of Sup Lancer Cav does look interesting.

+3 to attached BG for CMTs: +1 Line of Command and in range, +1 for attached, +1 for IC. hmmm... isn't it "CO in LOC in range is BG is not in close combat, or with BG if it is in close combat" down here we've been playing a max +2. CMTs C omplex M ove T ests, not CTs C ohesion T ests. :) But if you...

Unless I am in a dire situation, I would not put an IC into combat...EVER. I would be less averse to an FC. A TC goes in fairly frequently. I would keep an IC towards the main part of the Battle line, as with their 12" command range, and they add +2 to all CMT's within that range,+3 to any BG they a...

Your first and best resource for settling questions of this sort is the detailed turn sequence table at the back of the rule book. My answer, off the top of my head, is that "other units within 3 inches" test immediately they see their chums rout. FoG has the possibility of significant cascade effe...

If you wanted to limit the number of pike and knight armies, just limit the tourney to Legions Triumphant, where there are no knights and very limited pike. Having an "open" tournament but limiting unit types does sound rather unfair. It seems that you may be cutting off your nose to spite your face...

Re: Differences in Old Glory 15mm Armenian vs. Parthians?

Does any one know if there is much difference in appearance between the Old Glory 15mm Armenian Cataphracts and Horse Archers vs. the Parthian ones? Any comments on Old Glory 28mm Parthian cataphracts? It sure would be helpful if Old Glory would post some pics of their figs. actually... let's take ...

You mount your generals on a 40x40mm base for 15 mm. The models you use are either foot or mounted.

I have only played two games of FoG, but I have read over the rules quite thuroughly and I would have to say FoG does not have any ubermensch units in it. No matter how powerful a unit is, there is always a unit that counters it. Or, there is always a way to negate the units advantages. Now you can ...

I dont quite understand-"Much less troubled by lance ownership"-Cats and Knights most definitely have to charge when they dont want to,cannot evade and are slower than the Lance armed Cav.Remember you also get the Lost To Lancer -1 on Morale rolls if the cav wins Impact.Lance armed cav are great ag...

Damned if I can remember where, but I remember reading or watching something about berserkers and the suggestion that some elixirs with psychotropic properties may have been at work as well.
