Reading Warfare 2013

Does anybody have any concrete details of FoG competitions at Reading 2013, beyond the pts limits? "A Fistful of Talents in the age of Antiquity" and "Destrier Rides again the age of Chivalry Western Medieval" are certainly evocative, but some dates and armies would be helpful too. ... also ... is "...

MKS Campaign 2013 - query

I see the date has been set for Campaign, 11,12 May. , but are there any details of army selection for the ancients tournament?

Also, two more needed for a team ;-)

Re: Oxford FOG R Competition - 22nd and 23rd September 2012.

The Barcelo hotel is the closest, literally (ok, you might need a staff sling) a stone's throw from the Wolvercote Village Hall. There seem to be rooms left, but it ain't particularly cheap, 100 pounds per night for a double room. On the other hand, nothing in Oxford is much cheaper. The Peartree Ro...

Re: What about the actual changes?

Maybe those people that spent 12 months of their time doing that and playing beta games and adding to the changes might just be a little annoyed to now find no show on the hard copy, and that time wasted. By the way I've been playing tournements since 2008 and loved playing V1, would have played V2...

... however ...

The alternative naughty poll that has now been locked did ask a useful question. "Would you buy a PDF download?" , which isn't quite the same as the question here.

Re: Tablets for V2

The determinant on this isn't in Slitherine's hands. They have cast their fate with Abannan and what it dcides to do for business reasons. I suspect that Abannan really has little to no business motivation based on what wargamers want so I suspect Slitherine has pretty much lost control of their fa...

Re: UK Rankings

There is the minor issue that the listed ranks are wrong, although the people are ranked in the right order. For instance 10th ranked Phil Powell with 80.75 is shown as 11, while 17th ranked Andy Ellis with 75.38 is shown as 10. Anybody wanting to know their actual rank will just have to count caref...

Are allies restricted to the armies named? For instance, cribbing from armies seen at the BHGS doubles, are Later Ottomans forbidden from taking Tatar allies?

Re: Pursuing into Evaders

I have always played it that you follow the sequence of play. So if BG "Phil" is charged and evades Then the charging hits SOMEONE ELSE who breaks in the impact phase and the pursuit would hit "phil" again. Then you are in a new part of the sequence of play. So "phil" will evade again. ... but can ...

Re: battle lines

Some Complex Moves are inherently impossible for battlelines. A battleline can't contract or expand, and (I think) can't turn by 90 degrees. That doesn't leave much. Basically, artillery moves and putting down / picking up portable defences. The most common uses are double moves and rendering wheels...

I just re-sent my army list to hammy@the-riverbank.net , as requested. That's the email address from the Games Expo site

However, I notice that the emails from hammy have James@urgentdawn.freeserve.co.uk as the from and reply-to fields

Have I been sending the emails into the ether?
