Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Invading England looks tough! In this type of game I would think the first thing that the Americas would do when they get in the war is to invade North Africa. You start another front, which usually makes the Germans just give up the Suez canal, and most important you get the Free French ground unit...

I guess that is a Genghis Khan like horde of 7-8 German Calvary galloping towards Leningrad? Haha!

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

There does not seem to be much harm in losing Archangel or Belmorsk if the pp just go to the Allies instead ! If the Russians lose Archangel/Belmorsk then the convoy can go to the English. But, the Russians were mostly getting trucks and stuff like that, which the Russians badly needed but, might no...

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

I am no expert, but I think you have to hold on to the Luftwaffe as long as you can. You were to aggressive and blew through the Luftwaffe to fast. Probably it wasn't necessary to bomb the transports in France, or protect the beaches in Denmark with the Luftwaffe? Sending all land units to make a do...

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

Para's do not count for home guard activation, it has to be a regular land unit. Forget the Russians, just keep retreating. I would worry about that invasion in Northern Germany. Remember the English are extra dangerous this game because they still get the Russian convoy. At this point in the game, ...

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

The Russians needlessly lost Moscow (summer 42) and Archangel (summer 43), both very important places! And soon to needlessly lose Leningrad, by giving their Guard Corp unit a suicide mission? The German Air force in the West for the Summer of 43 will prevent the Allies from getting anywhere. But, w...

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

That German Para retreating really hurt the Germans!

Sea Lion is so difficult !

It would be a tough choice to call off Sea Lion at this point, but Capturing London will be such a slow and painful process I don't think it would be worth wrecking a 41 Barbarossa.

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

I am really glad that Morris is doing this AAR, because I love reading them! So no complaints here, but I'm having a hard time gleaming the whole picture from this AAR.

That English Fighter is a double veteran all ready, there must of be one hell of air war going on, its May 1940, turn 14 people!

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Was that a French Corp or a Garrison in Paris? Hard to tell with the picture counters. If it was a French Corp, I'd say Morris got unlucky that Paris fell, though I can not see how many German TACs there are, just three? If Paris would of held at say a 1 or 2 steps, Morris's counter attack would of ...

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Morris has just open his turn, Paris has just fallen, Vichy has been accepted. After the fact and only with the remains of the English controlled hexes, can I finally figure out, what the English force in France were. You could not before hand tell much from the AAR pictures because of the new HQ ba...

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

That is impressive a double line of mostly all Germans Corps from Leningrad to Rostov! Russian's are going to attack at Sumy that's guaranteed! In version 3.1 I thought the Russian Guard Mech that came with the Siberia Reserve were too powerful and as the Germans you were better off retreating than ...

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Let me see if I've got this English strategy right, France will fall in four turns or less. The English will not be saying " We Shall Fight on the Beaches ", No the English will be rolling out the welcome mat for the Germans in Southern England and be hiding their troops in Scotland trying to bait t...

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Are all the English garrisons in France? If the AAR was done with NATO counters you could see the color difference between the English and French counters. But the AAR is done with picture counters and the HQ leader number now covers the nationality symbol so you cannot tell anything about the natio...

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

I have never seen the Russian Mech from the Pripyat marshes get out alive! Looks like the Russian Mech might get out alive this game. I guess standing and fighting at the Stalin Line is worth something, a little bit at least. As the Russians, my natural instinct is to run! But the Russian units at t...

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

About your devious plan for the aircraft carrier! Aircraft Carriers have always received defensive bonus when in port, but because of that, (I once saw in a 4.0 change update) , they were talking about reducing the intercept range of carriers in port to one hex. I'm not on the 4.0 team, but you shou...

Re: AAR: Supermax VS Vokt (No Vokt pls) Version 4.0

Great to see a 4.0 AAR ! I've never played or seen 4.0 , I know it's a lot of work to do an AAR so a big thanks Max! I've never played Vokt, but I love reading the AAR's, so I've read all Vokt's AAR's. He seems like a conservative player, and I think it would be madness to try a Sealion against such...

Re: Morris (axis) vs Carlos Danger (allies) 3.1

It was a fun game! It was a close game and fun to play all game long. Although after the Allies were pushed into the sea in the spring of 44 in France, I thought it was not to be. Losing air superiority over France in spring/early summer of 44 was embarrassing. I can say it was the first game that I...

Turn 104. April 22, 1945. Clear in Germany, mud in Eastern Europe but most of the Russian planes have left the area. German move: German SS Mech in Hamburg is a quadruple veteran and German SS Mech in Berlin is a triple veteran. http://i.imgur.com/XReqopF.png Allied move: http://i.imgur.com/DTP9v1p...
