Unless you are planning to flank march some of your BGs I would reduce the FC to a TC, I think for your style of army a FC does give you any advantages for the extra cost. Fortified camp -why? Your opponents are similar armies to you, mostly heavy foot and shieldwalls if the enemy get to your camp t...

If you are in the restricted zone; can you turn 90 degrees to the enemy BG and move parallel to it as longer as your BG ends it's move further away? It seems silly for LH not to be able to move their 7 inches long the enemy Bg's front and be 3 or 4 inches clear of the enemy front. They will always h...

QRF in their Feudal Castings range have lead stakes molded on a base. Job done in about half an hour of labour.

I thought the commander had to stay with the routers for the initial rout move then he could split off in the JAP although I am not sure where in the rules that was listed. That is how I understand it to work the general gets carried out with the unit when it breaks but then move in the JAP. Otherw...

Mathew what about dropping one of the LH BGs and using the points to make one Cat BG 6 figures? If the points work out ok yes you drop to 16 BGs it still makes it a swarm.

Thanks guys for your input and I will run with all Lancers. Though as the army also has 4BGsx 4 LH uprot ave bow and 2BGsx 6 LF unprot ave bow, so I was hoping the some skirmishing was going to open up some good opportunities rather than just line up the armoured lancers and relying on speed of hors...

I have been looking into the Central Asian City States a bit more and started thinking about the Later Horse Nomad ally option. The only reason to use this ally option is I think to allow your army the have mixture of; 3 BGs x 4Cav, arm, sup lance from CACS 3 BGS x 4Cav, arm, sup bow/ swordsman from...

I was thinking of the western states such as Sogdiana. Sogdian armies were noted for large banners. Long contact with Chinese and Tibetan influences made banners with borders and complex shapes popular. Some were religious icons but most appear to be a solid coloured panel with text in it. The ČĀKA...

You are buying stakes for the front rank of archers only that is why it says stakes for half the longbowmen. It assumes you will only use your archers in a formation of two even ranks. Personally do not buy the stakes most of the time your longbowmen can handle the enemy without them or opponent wil...

Yes too friendly but as you can slide a half a base width in movement to avoid terrain we thought it might apply in a charge. As we could not find it quickly on the night we went with the friendly option. I do have another question on the this situation. The BG can only move one inch because of the ...

Must show there is a problem way this section is worded. May it would be easier to on page 41 under Difficult Forward Moves to write applies to undrilled other troop types only.

I guess as we were not playing for sheep stations and more interesting having fun. I guess there could have been some advantage to holding him up for an extra two turns I would have had an overlap on his Elephants for a turn or two.

Yes you are right assuming 24 Longbowmen BGs of 8 give you 12.5% more shooting dice than BGs of 6. The tricky part is working out if the army performs better in terms of AP break point staying power and flexibility if you have a smaller number of larger BGs. This is were the debate is.

Charge oops who put the mountain there

In last nights game we had a situation where my opponent which charging his battle line into my shield wall, this is did on a BG by BG basis. When my opponent when to move his first BG it clipped a steep hill by a 1/4 of inch severely disordering the BG so questions is the BG allowed a sideways shif...
