I never got a chance to play it, so I can't say if it's balanced. I just replaced Carthage with the Selukids using the starter army from Rise of Rome. Next, I intend to replace Rome with someone else to face the Selukids.

Sorry, Ian. That was my scenario which I was working on for my own amusement. I couldn't get it to work and sent it to Keith to find out why. Had I known it would be in a patch, I would've written a blurb, etc. Haven't got the finished game yet, but I hope the Seleucids have a better chance than doe...

I've never had it happen, but there have been numerous posts about this during beta testing, so it's not unusual.

Okay, Ian. You can be my friend, but you'll have to buy your own copy.

Phil,

I think I've done as you said, but get "merged cells must be indetically sized." Any ideas?

But the amusment value of scythe chariots should not be underestimated. I've used them a few times and their threat value can keep an area clear. Once they actually routed a LH unit all on their own.

Muromachi Japanese

Just had my first battle with this list against a similar army and it was great fun. Ended in a tie with both armies broken. One thing seems odd though, the only shock troops on the field were detached followers with offensive speers. (i.e. peasents being more agressive than Samurai!)

Intersting discussion of Adrian's remarks. I'm just rereading that book and was struck by his assertion that Roman maniples did not deploy but fought with wide gaps between. This, he says, makes questions of how the lines passed each other moot because the lines never deployed. He says the ritualize...

Here at Lake Tahoe, we've had just one significant storm all winter. The snowpack is at 50% of normal and there's nothing coming in the forseable future. Please send all you bad weather here.

Mark and Kevin, Thanks for the speedy replies, both very helpful. I won't be mixing them on the same stands with Essex. Those will form the allied BGs so that's not a problem. Will be though to get some figs to round out the generals though, maybe try another line that sells in smaller batches. BTW:...

Basic movement question

This is probably very noobish but here goes: During the movement phase, Undrilled Other must pass a CMT to move less than their maximum. but fail the test. However, enemy troops are straight ahead at less than the friendly's max move. Do they: 1. move as far as they can without making contact, or 2....

Howdy. First time poster here. I'm building a 15 mm Mid Roman army w/Pergamine ally to face my Successor/Selukids and I'm considdering picking up the Old Glory starter army to handle the Roman part. However, picutres are hard to find, but they seem good enough for the price, so I've got a few questi...
