The 1st Armored Division was the main Polish force in Normandy apparently.
There were many other Free Polish units however, especially in Italy.

In regards to the mission with field guns.....it's not impossible, but you will lose a lot of guys in the process.

The French did lose the Battle of France in a relatively short time period for a number of reasons. The French tank design, for instance, if I recall correctly, meant that they had a much lower rate of fire than the Germans since the commander also had to fire the main gun. I would guess they are more resilient/ higher morale to start with. Probably they have more AT charges as well.
