Re: CEAW GS 4.0?

Yes, please!

TYIA

P.S. My point about the Persian gar is that IMO they contribute in a real way to making the Middle East pretty much out of the question for Axis. I was just nostalgic for earlier days when going for the oil fields was still a viable strategy.

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

there are not really any Brits left to defend the ME, the question is will there be a late 41 Barbarossa or none I don't agree with the "throw" the RN at the Germans strategy, I think its better to keep it intact to support the US - its a lot of PP's the US doesn't have to spend on naval units Well...

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Regarding to your good wish ,please think it over that after losing Britain , UK will suffer heavy morale loss ; after losing Irac & Iran , Uk will only get less than 6pp per turn; after losing RN , UK will get no convoy against Max's big Axis navy ; after losing Britain, Irac , Suez , USA almost h...

Re: CEAW GS 4.0?

There are only 2 Persian GARS in the game. I am running 3.1, so maybe my information is already out of date. But I did run a quick hotseat to check on this, and in 3.1 there were 4 Persian gar. I'm glad to hear that the number was reduced. I did a little reading on the subject, and the Persians put...

Re: CEAW GS 4.0?

One question about the Middle East: When Iraq is activated, in addition to the corps appearing in/near Basra, there are 3 British garrison units around the country. Also, when Persia is activated, there are 4 more Persian gars. I'm wondering whether or not these should be tweaked? The 4 Persian unit...

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Hey, guys. Back after a *very* long hiatus... and I see Max up to his old tricks still! I am not up to speed on all of the latest changes to the game, but based on past experience in earlier versions of the game, there's no need for Morris to panic. Make Max bleed where you can, and slow him down. T...

Up-to-date instructions for playing latest version?

Hi, gang! After being away from the CEAW universe for a very long time (3+ years!), I've decided to check back in. I'm delighted to find that you dedicated folks are continuing to refine the game. I'd love to try out the latest version (I guess that's 3.1?), but I'm not sure how to proceed. Are ther...

Re: Russia in 3.0GS is a Monster

This debate has been going on in this forum in various ways for a very long time. Some of our elite players (Morris, Supermax) assert that the game has been made so 'historical' that now it's nearly impossible for Axis to pull off some of the fun and creative antics we used to see (for example, see ...

Re: Malta paradrop questions

Even when I bombed Malta itself to 'red', I found that the gar in Malta appeared to have supply '3'. I assumed this is because (illogically) the port of Malta was itself unbombed. Can someone verify this for me? In other words, as Axis, when Malta's in the red and I click on the British Malta *gar* ...

Question regarding the Italian surrender cities. ... With the change you have to capture something on mainland Italy or Albania to enforce a surrender. Historically Italy did not surrender until Rome fell. So I would say unless Rome is captured, Italy can continue to fight on. That's actually not t...

Thanks for 3.0!

Gang, It's good to be back into the hobby again after a very long absence. I just wanted to thank the folks who have been working steadily to make a great game even better. i had last played back in the fall of 2012 when version 2.1 was still current. I'm excited by the changes I'm seeing in the gam...

Don't forget also the fact that when you repair on home turf you don't lose 'veteran' status when you repair, but if you're in foreign territory all your replacements are newbs. I wonder if you're noticing the effects of combat experience? Another possible explanation is that air combat, as I unders...

3.0 Opponent wanted

Looking for opponent. Returning to game after long break, so a bit rusty on rules. I can get in multiple turns/day in early game until things get complicated, then steady 1 turn per day.

If interested, pls respond with your email and preference for side.

Cheers!

How do I upgrade to v3.0?

Gang, I'm baaaack! After a long hiatus (since fall of 2012), I'd like to get back into the CEAW hobby, on a more limited basis. I see that you folks have been busy and that now a v. 3.0 is available. Please let me know how to upgrade (iMac). Thanks, and I hope to cross swords with some of you very s...

since it is already June 27th , so time is limited for your sealion . You will probably not able to take Scotland before winter ,but you have to take Liverpool before bad weather. Hmmm.... Mr. Morris, I'm a little surprised by your remark. June 1940 is pretty much "par" for taking Paris, after all....

June 7, 1940. Now that the immediate crisis had been dealt with, the next question was how to break out of the little beach landing I'd established at Dover. The situation at the beginning of the turn looked like this: http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg526/Lugupal/vMax26-7-1940Sealion.png The pr...

Re: Dyle Plan - what next?

The way that Morris does the Dyle Plan, the Canadians are a big influence, since they add a very strong element to the forces the UK can deploy in France from the earliest days of the war. IMO if he had to do it with British forces alone, the wall of units he sets up would be a lot easier to manage.
