Re: Panzer Corps 2

I would like to have a little hint how much prestige the enemy has at hand. If it only is shown at the beginning of a scenario, or hinted indirectly in the mission briefing/scenaro messages. This would be only a little change, but make a big difference for decisions. At the moment, it is totally unc...

Re: Good World War 2 Books

Oh, there are so many. No wonder the "juggernauts" are mentioned, those big books covering the whole war like Shirer, Beevor and so on. Won't say they are not great reads, but often they miss out what happened tactically on the battlefield. A great book that views cautiously the operational scale is...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.7

I know its explained somewhere, but I cannot find it anymore:

If I have installed Battlefield: Europe and want to play the standard campaign and the DLCs, how do I switch the Mod off?
I know I can do them with the Mods rules and limitations, but I rather would have the normal thing for that.

Re: Is something else planed after US Corps and V1.26?

Something else planed for US Corps? Ideas I've read in this post so far and a couple I'm including: 1. Soviet GC involving [East Front, Finish and Japanese Battles] 2. Perhaps a smaller Finish Campaign vs Russia, 16-20 scenarios 3. Perhaps could try "themed" smaller campaigns, 8-12, 16-20 scenarios...

Re: US Corps St. Vith

Thanks for the information. I played it through these days. The ending is easy, while its hard to avoid losses when trying to hold the objectives in the open. They really have a lot of Tiger II, Jagdtiger and Jagdpanther there, I think I counted six in the whole of these types. I evacuated the force...

US Corps St. Vith

I play the US GC44-45 currently and I try to go for Triumph from the start. After all before was challenging, I found St. Vith to be a jump up in diffictuly with the huge amount of Tiger II, Jagdtiger and Jagdpanther and even a huge second wave of them coming at around turn 10. But what bothers me m...

Re: What are peoples favourite maps and why, also most hated

My single one favorite map is Gazala (Afrika Korps). 1. Its a big map. 2. There is a lot of stuff do and there are a ton of ways how to do it. 3. There are a lot of possible solutions how to win it and make the most out of it. 4. Its a map with a lot of different battle zones, where you have to adva...

Re: El Guettar Help

After playing hours on Panzer Corps, I found this one hard, too. The major issue: they have a lot of 8.8 in their attacking force in this one, meaning its very dangerous for your airforce.. On the second time I found it much easier. After triggering the Axis attack, I pulled back immediately in the ...

Re: Is something else planed after US Corps and V1.26?

I think there would be space for a soviet grand campaign. There is still much battles left which are not that heavily featured in existing Panzer Corps.

Re: To whoever did mission design for US '42

I liked so far what I saw from U.S. Corps. It was rather some scenarios of Soviet corps I did not enjoy (for example, both Japanese ones, or the Stalingrad map with the diminishing space).

Re: Where to find Panzer Corps expansions

Hi,

I installed US Corps but can't find the campaigns in the folder. What can I do?
Is there another way than to uninstall all of the games? I already had to do it when I bought Soviet Corps, kinda sucks.

Re: Your most favorite/hated scenario

Going back to the original Panzer General, my favourites were Norway and Kiev. The Norway scenario in PzC was great too, although a little less epic in scope. I was disappointed that the DLC Kiev path did not give you control of auxiliaries around Kiev, as trying to fend off Soviet armor with weak ...

Re: A few negative points

You have some good points. Initially I liked OOB: Pacific and took it as great improvement for Panzer Corps. But I switched back to Panzer Corps. There are some very good ideas in OOB, but there are some game mechanics that are very annoying. A lot of them involve all kind of combat with planes. The...

Re: Your most favorite/hated scenario

My all-time favourite scenario in all PG/PC-games is Gazala in Afrika Korps. A huge map, challenging and still so many ways to win it. The Orkney scenario in the new Sealion campaign - maybe the coolest air/land/sea battle. Most hated: Villers-Bocage in GC West 1944; somehow they got totally wrong h...

Re: British India... or Japanese India

screw you Gazala, Basra and Arabia Gazala - I finally found a way that seems to work consistently (send almost every available unit south except for some artillery to help clear out the northern city - the one with the AA units, 6 pounder and 7.2" gun - so you can get to Tobruk). Basra - the slow a...

Re: British India... or Japanese India

I'm now about to start the last mission of Afrikakorps (screw you Gazala, Basra and Arabia  ), and have just noticed that Rangoon was on the map, as well as most of Burma and Eastern India (this is alright as it is called 'India'). However, Burma and India as far as Imphal was occupied by ...

Re: What Was the First Computer Wargame You Played?

I also played tons of hours with Talonsoft's East Front/West Front series! It had it's flaws, but it had superior graphics, compared to any other wargame of it's time. True. Its still the strategy game where I like the maps the most. I love to go over the map and recall what happened at Hill 173 an...

Re: What Was the First Computer Wargame You Played?

You can still buy East Front, West Front and Rising Sun as a bundle. It is still being updated and improved. I've been playing them a lot lately. There is a big update due in 2016. If you like the game system you can check out the forum at Matrix for info. I did, and played it the last week. I like...

Re: What Was the First Computer Wargame You Played?

My big brother actually have put me on Talonsoft Western Front and Eastern Front at .. 6 year, i was trying to get better german medals than him, obviously failing. Though these 2 wargames created even more of passion about war history and WW2. I think that were very good games on the tactical leve...

Re: Most hated scenarios

Oboyan, oh yes. Grinding PC style, its like you cant move 2 hexes before you stumble in the next russian battle group. Spoils of War - the premise is to stupid. I also do not like some other strange design decision (for example, having Romanians in the Belgrad Scenario or Italians in the Stalingrad...
