Re: Invisible fighter escort?

You mean the good old Kampfgruppe by SSI? Yes in the 1980's for the Amiga (below), I spent countless hours playing it mostly against the computer, totally mesmerised..:) I did, too, though with C-64. And also its sister games Battlegroup (western front) and Mech Brigade (Cold War). Ah, those golden...

Re: Explanation of all traits

I suppose no unit has "Landmine immunity", right? It may be used in conjunction with the Brit. "Metal Detector" spec internally somehow. It makes engineers mine-immune then - even their transports, I think (?). Sounds like a good idea. Maybe with an Allied DLC one day... Re. "Unreliable": Imo it sh...

Re: Explanation of all traits

I suppose no unit has "Landmine immunity", right? I think it'd have been the favourite among the Soviet Shtrafbats. ;)

PS- I used to play Kampfgruppe against a Brit territorial army guy and trusted him until I caught him blatantly cheating. His pathetic excuse was "I have to cheat because you usually win".
Well, that excuse is kind of flattering. :D

Re: Best use of engineers

Anything with Precision Strike is probably the best method because just like you said ground units would be out of commission for a long time when hunting such a straggler.

Re: Best use of engineers

I agree with the rules, but it seems in same rare cases a unit does retreat through the hexes adjacent to the attacking enemy unit as long as it doesn't end up in one (= retreat of two hexes). It is more than possible I remember it wrong  , but I'll keep on eye on it should the thing ever happ...

Re: Best use of engineers

Almost completely forgot about it: That was my solution to the "order of attack/battle":  Thanks for coming back to this. :) Is it 100% sure the enemy won't retreat two hexes when the third unit attacks? It is just that sometimes a two hex retreat (through the attacker's zoc but not ending to...

Yeah, that might be good advice when you're talking to your mother, but otherwise, I don't know... :D
And I'm a bit bad at following good advice.

Re: Is E-100 spesialization still bugged?

You can actually buy the Maus in the final mission, but only after playing about halfway through of the scenario (it is available on the 10th of May) and if you happen to have an extra 9 CPs hanging around. :| Since my mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at al...

Re: Is E-100 spesialization still bugged?

Imo Gabe's choice of putting the E-100 available for the final mission only is the correct one. That's where you see the American monsters also (T29, T95).

OT-34 should be in the stock e-file - after all more than a thousand were made. But noooo, let's rather have sthg of which only two were made.

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v7.1.6)

Can't say that I have neither, but with experience you don't need ski sticks actually. I find them to be a bother personally. So basically you've got two free hands while skiing... You ski crosscountry without the poles? Really? Don't start me with that. I'm actually a huge StarTrek fan and I could...

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v7.1.6)

Have you ever seen a soldier with ski transporting or using a Panzerfaust ? Skiing with a panzerfaust should not be easy  Can't say I have and it sure would be no mean feat to do that. - it's questionable, if the AI will target the new class in existing scenarios as it's new. This coul...

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v7.1.6)

I agree with Mr. T: anyone aiming for historically accurate Finnish Ski Troops should lose the helmets and use fur hats or field caps instead. If not, then it does not matter. https://www.kuvakokoelmat.fi/pictures/small/HK19/HK19890421_1600.jpg But the most hilarious thing is how the skis are sort o...

Nice! :D And there was (and is) a rail connection between Mersa Matruh and Alexandria (present for instance in Strategic Command), so... Re: No 'Unrestricted Submarine Warfare' Specialization .png

This 'Unrestricted Submarine Warfare' -specialization seems to be very similar to 'Wire Guided Bomb' so it should be very easy to add "codewise". Disclaimer: this is said by a person with zero coding capabilies. :D

Re: No 'Unrestricted Submarine Warfare' Specialization .png

It is this and I don't think it works. But you're not talking about the German one, with the "Me_262", are you?
It worked in beta, I'm sure of it. Recieved it 1-2 scens earlier with the spec.
No, not specifically. Does it then work in, say, Burma Road also? If yes, then I happily stand corrected. :)

Re: Artillery rebalance (post 7.1.6)

At some point, you can't use an exact linear conversion of meters to hex, otherwise arty like the German 17K18 should have range~13-15hex and the K5 railway gun with 60+km range would be something like 26-30 hex (it's actually done with range=18 in the Anzio scen), which does not work well in this ...
