Re: GS Beta Bug Reporting

Haven't done any testing with that. This is on a Mac. Will have to wait for it to happen again. I also find if you upgrade the Slovak corp to an FJR you don't see anything except the small flag. I have seen it only MAC also. But I was never really sure if it was one of the many changes. Rarely happ...

Re: Question regarding intercepting fighters

Do intercepting fighters burn oil? If so, same rate? Thanks. Yes. Sometimes. They burn oil at the same rate as an "unintercepted" fighter, or bomber, attacking a target. An intercepted plane attacking a target burns double the oil as an unintercepted one. Follow up question. Does an aircraft attack...

No Rail Movement in Norway afar DoW by Axis

Playing a game in RC16a. I am Allies. Norway was just DoW'ed by the Axis at the beginning of the turn. I tried to rail my remote GAR to reinforce Oslo - the were unable to rail. In fact, none of the three GAR in Norway could rail. The GARs can move -- just not rail. UK GAR able to sail into Norway p...

Re: Taking Malta in GS

Ok, so I read the comments and decided to give taking Malta a try. Found it easy to defeat the attack by 2 German ftrs, 2 Tac, 1 BB, 1 Italian Tac and 1 fighter with 2 BBs and the Destroyer all attacking the British ftr, the fort and the naval base, simply by putting the fighter to sleep every turn...

Re: Final Help with GS 2.1 Manual !!

Can you please add two important facts regarding defense: 1. Any resource (city, mine, fortress, rail hub) negates all underlying's terrain factors. On such hex only resource's factors are counted. 2. Unit that is not entrenched does not use any defensive bonuses provided by hex (from terrain/resou...

Re:

Yep i agree on the ahistorical thing. but doing Sealion is not historical. Taking Moscow isnt either. Hell build a CV is a gross overstatement on german shipbuilding capability! bottom line is that you cant block some players to find news ways of upsetting the balance. Before every turn of every ga...

I do believe this could also have significant game balance implications. It strikes me that the Axis is much more dependent on rail in its power level/ability to project limited resources. Rail seems to me to be an essential resource for the Axis and limiting it would have a one sided impact. Allies...

A couple more things: 5.4.2. (pg. 108), last sentence of first paragraph. "It that case" to "In that case" 8.4.3. (pg. 216), last sentence of section. Reggio is now a surrender city (3.2.4), delete this sentence. 9.7.1. (pg. 267), points 1, 2, 3, 4. These four points are largely redundant, could be...

The new format looks good. 1. The bottom of each has the tags saying "Buy CEaW and download GS 2.0." Should it be 2.10? 2. Had you not planned to include your actual moves for your invasion of Norway? Thanks for your comments! First, GS 2.1 has not been released yet. The link at the bottom is to bu...

Glad to see this will wait for a later version of the mod. It's an intriguiging idea, but would be difficult to implement properly, as Stauffenberg points out. If it is eventually considered, having a long lag time in fortress construction is important. If it is considered for implementation in a f...

CEaW Wiki Update - Need Ideas & Recommendations

To All, A different recent posting here - "Growing the Hobby" - mentioned updating the CEaW wiki page as part of a campaign to raise exposure of CEaW and more specifically, Grand Strategy expansion. I am planning on starting to edit the wiki page for the entry "Commander - Europe at War". I would ap...
