Yes, would certainly be grateful for any additional screens you could give, especially some detail of the air and naval components of the game. However, the best antidote to the anticipation is to get our hands on the game. 8)

Thanks for the AAR, nice to see the wide selection of units and maps, with a very capable AI, which just makes the anticipation more intense, when ! :D

In the lower right hand corner panel there is star symbol, which starts 'greyed' out and does not respond to a mouse click (pass your mouse over the symbols and a box appears to tell you what they do). When upgrades become available the star symbol colours green and, if you select it, the mouse curs...

I know but surely war would be expected if units were on the border apart from the usual border police and therefore when the shooting starts it would be less shocking. I'm suggesting decreasing the shock if say there was more than 3 garrisons or 1 of any other type of unit except maybe for submari...

The only problem I have that I think can be agreed on and easily solved is the absence of the Shannon river. There's not much point to invading Ireland but this change wouldn't take too long. 49,22 to 52,18. Getting to the grit the bigger problems are the lack of national morale or politics aswell ...

You could say that the vanilla game is still available if you want a more varied game, the GS mod was specifically made to provide a more 'historical' feel, which it has achieved. The problem will always be, that if you introduce historical factors, then you will introduce some of the same limitatio...

Certainly in the early years it was difficult to find and destroy U-boats, but they did not go hunting DDs, it is much more difficult to hit DDs doing 20-30kts than it is to hit convoys doing not much more than 10kts (speed of the slowest ships in heavy seas). I can see how ASW was weak early in the...

Re: Suggestion about UK

Having launched Sealion several times after the battle for France, I suggest an option for the UK to offer armistice if both London and Liverpool surrender with all the ground forces still in the UK surrendering if the Germans accept (although the Crown and the Churchill government may still flee t...

What level of tech is in force, do not the DDs get more potent as the tech level increases. When ASW tech levels improve the subs should suffer significant loss if they take on the DDs directly, if that is not happening then the DDs need to be made more resilient. Un-escorted convoys would always be...

Actually several invasions failed badly in Crimea. From both sides. So, how would this affect game balance? Well it obviously hurts the Axis since there are so many many coastal hexes to defend and CEAW doesn't include sea mine warfare. These types of amph assault ships really don't require much lo...

Its kind of amazing that not a single Allied amph. invasion, in Europe or the Pacific, failed (unless you include Dieppe '42). Actually several invasions failed badly in Crimea. From both sides. With massive Allied air and naval forces available failure was unlikely, but you would have to think car...

Trail Arrows

I see on screen-shots trail arrows giving the history of the previous move, it is also mentioned in the manual, but they are not in my game, what do I have to select, thanks.

And as others have stated, the key is defended beaches. Its not hard to amph. land troops using row boats and barges on an empty beach. But investing in amph. ships and armour (i.e. LVTs) should be the only way to land on heavily defended coastal hexes. I was thinking not so much of forcing defende...

Re: Partisans

I became tired of having strong partisan units popping up all over my rear areas (as the Germans). I know that partisans were a pain and the Germans needed to garrison their rear areas. But even my garrison units had trouble taking on some of these 10-strength partisan units in bad weather and roug...

one simple fix, rather than a huge code redo, would be to add costs to ampibs thus limiting them by default.. so by example, it costs 40 pp for each unit amphibed etc The invasion of Norway was launched with hardly any specialised equipment and the success of any landing depends on the defence, if ...

I don't think it is possible to have a game that is fun and yet historical accurate, because we all have the hindsight that allows us to avoid the biggest strategic mistakes made in the war. That's because most historical and semi-historical games focus on OOBs, combat mechanics etc. while totally ...
