After a brief test, and comparing this one with the "age of reason mod":
Napoleonic mod lags a lot compared to age of reason; units animations are, like in the age of reson, lacking, so they just slide (i think you already knew it)

Re: FoG II Napoleonic Mod
I would suggest to not change victory conditions; in napoleonic warfare objectives were an accident in a pitched battle (except for aspern essling) , indeed napoleon view of a battle was to force one battle to destroy the enemy. So while objectives are extremely important on a strategic point of vie...

Re: 18th Century mod right here Frederick the Great Age of R
Tried it, a real good start to work on. Yes there is no animation for units, in my test they just "slide" like counters on a map, but the graphics are well implemented for my PC is not with high performance but i experienced no lags. As you might already know artillery shoud have personnel (in the m...

On skirmish editing
Maybe a rather silly question: Considering i found the work on scenarios for "age of reason" and "napoleonic" a real gem here, i was thinking how might i ... well maybe someone better than me in modding.... use armies, units from those scenarios to build up a skirmish module for "age of reason" or "...

I am very happy for this, you are marching really fast.... my bet is on "legions triumphant" but every "army book" will be excellent

Re: Fantasy armies
i suppose a good modder might work on some generic fantasy army lists, maybe when some middleage list will appear; for example a XIII century based army list, or maybe a "legions triumphant" army list with barbarians and romans might be really interesting to work on. Romans might be ... well humans,...

Re: Sandbox Campaign suggestions
On losing and winning battles in sandbox campaign, this is my personal little suggestion: - if it is possible it might be interesting to enable a "libra" in the main campaign menu that may be reminded in the menus from battle to battle. The player can adjust the libra to be balanced or unbalanced to...

Re: Ideas for how to learn the game?
I will suggest to select armies you know, maybe you read about some famous battle so you might understand how some armies behaved; so for istance try Rome vs Carthago or maybe try same armies battle so you might "learn from AI" so try Roman vs Roman or Gauls vs Gauls

Re: Sandbox Campaign suggestions
After a dozen of campaigns (from 3 to 5 battles each) my suggestions: - i agree to let the player choose up to 2 (maybe 3) enemies, one core enemy and one/two allies (soci) - a bit more variation on battles will be appreciated, by now i had an average of 90% open battles, i experienced only one bagg...

Re: Adraeth's little FOG2 page
After the sounding defeat against Epirus i tried a 5 battles, level 3 progressive campaign of Macedon Vs Greek league. I won rather easily, excpet i had some bad moments in the very first battle. Battles were 1: open; 2: open; 3:open; 4: baggage escort; 5: open. Here is the final unit lists. And now...

Re: Adraeth's little FOG2 page
I am playing level 3, battle was very small and I lost mainly due bad handling agains phalanx (it tends to advance after melee so uncovering flanks and rear , I did not exploit very well) and other greek infantry is not so good as Epirus one
