Re: epic Armageddon and Warhammer 40K Armageddon weapons

Just to add to that, why would you arm your anti-tank team with missile launchers (Str 8, AP3) instead of Lascannon (Str 9, AP2) or Multi-melta (Str 8, AP2, Melta) which are both way more effective versus tanks? Even Autocannons (Str 7, AP4) are better against light armour than Krak Missiles due to ...

Re: Notes on gameplay mechanics

Do weapons have split profiles to account for increased effectiveness versus infantry or tanks? For example, heavy flamers should decimate infantry but do next to nothing against tanks, while melta guns should assassinate tanks at close range but would struggle to do more than one or two damage to i...

Re: [Balance]Automatic retaliation and titans/top tiers unit

Retaliation is definitely not a very enjoyable mechanic at the moment, especially with the power of heavy, fast-firing artillery like the Griffon. One mortar unit can end up "retaliating" against an entire front's worth of units in a single turn, and then fire itself in the AI turn. I realise you do...

Re: First Impressions

units don't flee, but they get a malus to defence/ reaction fire / attack when their morale drop(the unit strength turns yellow then red). Shame, morale is such a large part of the tabletop game. I would love to have to make decisions like "Order your Commissars to shoot their own men to make them ...

Re: The Bug Thread

To go with my thoughts in my First Impressions thread: I'm having more success against armour with mortars (armour piercing 10%) than with lascannon or battlecannon (0% and 0%). In tabletop 40k the lascannon is a specialist anti-tank weapon (Str 8) and the battle cannon is a one of the most powerful...

Re: The Bug Thread

Tooltip bug: in the reinforcement menu when you hover over the unit type the tooltip says "Heavey Foots" instead of "Heavy Foot" (or even "Heavy Infantry" which might work better) (It also says "Defense" instead of "Defence" but I'll presume that the beta is in US English and the UK English translat...

Re: First Impressions

Thanks for the clarification about the similarities to Epic (which I've never played) versus pure 40k. I do understand the complexities of how to model units on this scale but I wonder why we assume anti-tank capabilities in an (apparently) all-lasgun platoon yet the transports for that squad are no...

First Impressions

About me: I'm an experienced table-top 40k player. This is my first Slitherine game, although I have played a but of Panzer General 2 / OpenGeneral. Installer The game installed easily, although it did seem to take a long time to move the assets given it was an SSD to SSD install. Starting the Tutor...
