I have a BUNCH of Sassanid Persians in a bag in my hobby room - I am thinking they need to be painted - I am pretty sure that I just heard the figs calling my name - and these new figs would fill some big holes in my army. PLUS you said there were some king of kings figs plus a nice baggage train fo...

Historicaly from what I know about - Romans were tough in a formed legion face to face with the enemy - they enemies who whooped them - hit them another way. I like the way my romans fight face to face. I have had some games of Romans vs Romans - TOUGH - but fun I like the rules BUT I field Romans

Could be a fun tourney
Play a lot of points on a wide table for one session

then play the same armies with fewer points on a smaller table and compare results

I like the idea of more Legions on the table - better to BASH you with

I do hate those shooty horsey guys running around though - pricks

From what I have seen this is way more of a problem with the 28mm figs than the 15mm figs. If you are worried -- wait to base yor figs until you can go to a nice FOG tourney at one of the conventions - there are usually 25/28mm guys there to help. My eperience tells me that to add some depth is okay...

I would paint them so they look go to YOU and they will then fight better for you. Pick an army that you are interested in and paint them to your tastes - you will have fun and that is what is the most important. I have also found some of the best painters I have ever met - were the most gracious an...

A friend of mine from Northern California who is much wiser than me - explained it to me this way a rough rule of thumb, knights from 1050 to about 1200 should be in chain mail and helmet with shield. Knights from about 1200 to about 1400 should be in a combination of some plate and some chain mail ...

Plus camps can be fun to build and paint - they add a lot of color to the board - of course I had to borrow one from Chuck Hines for the first month that I play FOG. I have about 8 of them now - various flavors and descriptions - mostly roman. If you are building your first one - try to build it wit...
