Re: v2.20 addition. Vote

On the other hand it should be possible for the Germans to invest in the north and actually take Murmansk with enough effort. They just shouldn't be able to surprise attack Murmansks similar to what was possible in GS v2.1 regarding Baku. In GS v2.1 the Germans can invade Turkey and Russia won't do...

Nice AAR,thx. Refreshing to see Axis properly defending Libya instead of buggering out to Sicily as seems to be the standard modus these days.

Better option is to combine the <6 Axis in Finland with >X Russian units within Finnish borders. This way you avoid silly surrenders.

Great AAR! I suppose you have some strategic reserve for dealing with Allied action vs France or Italy? Looks pretty empty in Germany.

Re: Furor Teutonicus (no Kaibag73 please)

Looks very promising. If you are in position with troops on the Turkish-Russian border to instagrab Baku area on Barbarossa start it could be a gamewinner! Even in the Russian piles up defences they will be too weak due to the massive efficiency drop.

Re: Diplo v Max Rematch: The Lisbon Opening

I see a few possible strategic gains in this. Portugal if not dealt with will remain as a thorn in the side for the Axis. They can´t really take it back easy and as soon as Barbarossa is aproaching the allies can declare war on Spain and take advantage of that. Since allies already have a foothold ...

Re: ncali's Axis kick my but!

As I am sure you have realised you have overspent on the air force so much that it seems you forgot to build a Red Army :p

Watch out in Agadir, it seems your entire Free French army will be out of supply when it falls, as I assume Axis have taken all of Egypt!

Re: Clash of the Mortals -- For Allied Eyes Only

Yeah for sure African infrastructure anno 1940s was not built for supplying large armies on large treks - which is why the historical Allies invaded (and was supplied) by sea. Again, if the Axis manage to progress all the way to Agadir the Allies should be punished by having to invade Africa, not ge...

Re: Clash of the Mortals -- For Allied Eyes Only

If Allies managed to lose all of Africa then they deserve to have to strain to actually reinvade the place from the US. Do you realize how large all of Africa is? I think it would be quite impossible for the allies to completely lose the entire continent to the axis. I think he has a point, it is q...

Re: Clash of the Mortals -- For Allied Eyes Only

I think he has a point, it is quite silly that the FF autoappear and teleport Germans to force pool. Should be coded so that if Axis control Agadir, then the FF appear in any free US hexes instead. If Allies managed to lose all of Africa then they deserve to have to strain to actually reinvade the p...

Re: Clash of the Mortals -- For Allied Eyes Only

Great AAR! Allies surely in the best position. Think though it would have been better to not evacuate Iraq, but rather reinforce it. After all, only minor Axis forces in the theatre and if you can easily hold for US (and later Soviet) reinforcements.

Re: FORTRESS EUROPA improved (no Diplomaticus)

I think ive been misunderstood. I am looking for an opponent that will do the Fortress Europa strategy against me and i play the allies. Would it not be a major advantage for the Allies if you *know* there is going to be a Fortress Europa? You could easily tailor tech and builds to cope with this f...

I think Denmark is a great idea, cant believe Morris let you capture a supply source. All of Germany will be flattened by strategic bombers now.

Nice done Max, i have been waiting for this à long time. It's been rather frustrating to see people complain about the game balance instead of coming up with à well planned counter attack against Morris many reckless advances. The good thing for Max now is that he has already made contact with the ...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple

You deffinetely can do it, but paratrooper cost 15+15 PP + 10 for drop + unit will be lost there once and for all, unless you DOW Sweden and sort the things hard way. By the way just checked hotseat - germans get straight 6 PP from that mine, not like x0.5 for occupied territory, so its quite worth...

Re: FORTRESS EUROPA improved (no Diplomaticus)

Nice counterstrike in Egypt. If the Allies have been soundly trounced and remain with little more than what is on the screen, maybe even prospects for pushing into Iraq?

Also, mystifying move by the Allies to simply blindly walk into the envelopement in Morocco...

I see in this new GS the iron ore is on map as a big fat resource in a hex controlled by Germany (and not neutral Sweden). Does this mean you can paradrop from Trondheim area and take it? If so this is a must operation for the Brits!

Re: FORTRESS EUROPA improved (no Diplomaticus)

Going to be interesting to see if all these German CVs will make any difference in the face of massive Allied navies. I wonder though, with the long building time of 15 turns, whether the PP investment can be justified when the effect of it is so long deferred. Any other builds will see a much faste...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple

IMO the Russian effectiveness loss is now too much, the Germans can run riot with armour without any fear of counterattack in 41. Thus they are able to reach Stalingrad since there is no need to be a bit cautious with spearheads as the Russians are just too weak to do anything.

Re: GSv2.10 Brochures

The weather .pdf is a bit confusingly worded. Re page 3 with the big sidebar, there is a lot of mixing of terms "eastern weather", "northern weather" each of which should be clearly defined. Also, in the beginning of the sidebar it states that "severe winter" only occurs north of Crimea, but then la...
