Re: Debate continues (see Morris vs. JoeRock AAR)

I like the idea of sweetening Sealion a bit by making control of London another possible city to cause Spain to ally with the Axis.

Re: Morris vs Joe Rock

IMO a mistake for the Soviets to concentrate all on this Uralsk blob and not even trying to take back the Grozny oilfield? Should be both strategically more important and easier against defending tanks.

IMO given this situation Soviets should push hard now as winters nears, esp in the south, attrit the Axis and get some armour out.

7 hexes from Omsk, you should perform a mercy killing to end the suffering! With so many PPs and oil smart as you do to pump out high quality units (fighters especially, then the Allies will never get a foothold).

Seems unfair that the Homeguard morale drop continues even after Britain is conquered. Wasn't the point to discourage a GAR-blob in France, not to cripple the RN permanently? The morale drop represented fear at the prospect of invasion, but once the invasion has occurred can't we assume the Navy wo...

In terms of testing, the Russian is by far not aggressive enough in the winter turns, with mech and armour at the frontline he should have made wholescale attacks to burn manpower and oil.

Well, looks like a nice 42 summer is at hand!

Nice AAR! For sure worth to go for Moscow with such a low chance of SW, bad luck. Anyway the presence of some Russians garrisons at the front line will hopefully mean the counterattack will not be THAT bad.

[ To me, the most important part is that the game becomes less fun, less interesting when so many top Axis players just give up entirely on North Africa, and never even try to advance very far into Russia during Barbarossa. We start to get a more static and predictable game. Agreed. Barbarossa now ...

IMO nothing wrong with this move, if the Allies have squandered away their entire navy so they cannot even stop three transports then they deserve it. Also, the Free French are magically teleporting into Dakar in any case so....

I agree that Supermax still has a good chance winning this game. I also agree with him that it's not fun anymore playing against people who just exploit the game rules and won't follow historical paths. So my question to you all is this: Should we simply ignore the issues we see that Morris shows u...

Have to agree with most posters here, current situation with Axis deliberately not taking Paris to avoid autospawning of garrisons is very gamey and does not "feel" right. The Vichy garrisons can easily be rationalised as the Vichy regime given years of preperation to defend their colonies, but he i...

Yes, excellent amph changes. Also, now Axis can also make a go of it for Sealion and not worry too much about the cost of shipping troops back and forth across the Channel.

Why are you reinforcing Sicilly? May i suggest a more offensive strategy with the italians, build a lot of subs with the italians instead to combat the Allied naval power. In most cases, if you invest in sub tech you can keep the allies at bay even as late as 43. Then you can focus all your german ...

Yep, this is the prinicipal fault of the original game for me as well. Not very modern game design, but maybe a result of focus on the single player mode. Anyway, probably not something the GS team can be expected to fix.
