Also, seems a lot of German tanks are not upgraded from starting techs? Cannot be a nice way to face the Red Army. Also it seems the Russians enjoy local air superiority on the hurting southern sector. Could oil levels be worrying after a lof of naval and air usage? BTW, Russian convoys, are they ge...

Okay, thought the Finns were exactly like the Russians in winter. If not they def should be, no way should Russian units perform better in winter then the Finns? Also, interesting lab tactic with no Italian general labs? IS the thinking that the Italians will be knocked out so early that it does not...

Great AAR! As someone mentioned, I think in severe winter you really should make use of the fact that your Finns have been "liberated", and put them on the front line instead of in 2nd line. They are of much higher quality than the other minors and do not suffer from winter. And, the losses will not...

Its very argueable, that Sealion add any single PP for germans. You need a) ship lots of forces to conquer isles b) ship them back for further campaigns c)build garrisons d)ship garrisons to the isles Together with casualties owning of Britain for couple of years will not even pay back this expense...

Makes sense. Maybe then though that port hex "Chatham" should be moved south of the river or deleted altogether, to give Sealion a threat of landing also northeast of London.

With the general success on all fronts, why not just skip Torch with the US and land directly into Sicily or even France? Seems the Italians have nothing much left to stop this.

Hi, I'm looking for a tcp/ip opponent who lives in the US or Europe who likes to play in the evening, or late at night on fridays and saturdays. The reason for this timeframe is because I live in Australia and have time on hands in the early mornings corresponding to those evenings. I'm not sure wh...

Could it be that a simple fix to this "blob" problem is to not make Russia as weak at Barbarossa start (due to the massive efficiency loss)?

Sounds good, but hopefully it is coded so that it does not apply to cities captured *by* Italy (ie apart from the at game start ones). Would be silly if a successful Italy gets punished for fex capturing Cairo and then losing it again.

Great work!

The briefing infers that reaching Omsk is now almost impossible compared to earlier GS versions. In what way has the game changed to make this the case?

Come and See (Russian, 1985)

- The Eastern Front was not pretty behind the lines (or anywhere really).

A Midnight Clear (1992)

- also small scale about a US platoon in the Ardennes.

The Allies really should evacuate those RAF fighters to Russia instead of dying in a hopeless defence of Iraq - I am sure the Red Air Force could do with the assistance!

Interesting game, I think though that as soon as the Russians realise there is no (or weak) 41 Barb they should put some research into armour, essential for an offensive.

Good changes, great to have a choice in this matter!

IMO, Vichy should not autojoin the Axis in 43, that would be akin to forcing the Allies to DoW it. If Vichy exists I think current situation is ok, there are advantages and disadvantages to DoWing them.

Well once you have captured Palestine you have a supply source so you can then "create Vichy" by taking Paris. Still, having Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse I suppose outweighs the PPs loss from not having Paris so maybe better to leave it unconquered. Of course, the Allies when they realise this shoul...

Yep was thinking the same, "free" landing in Syria should make taking Palestine easy, and then you got a supply source to secure Middle East and also Suez.

Downside is that the French Navy will remain in play for some time (unless it already has been thrown away).

Could Thommo have been expecting that you would not occupy Paris right away (or at all)? That's the only reason I can conceive why the French wouldn't ship the garrisons to defend the homeland. You get 45 PPs worth of garrisons for 24 PPs in transport costs. Indeed, and judging byt this game they d...

Great AAR this which already looks to go in a bit different path. The Brits have no air support in their attack on Libya? Could as you say turn into a disaster and an Axis lake of the Med, not to mention a rush for the Iraqi oil fields. Probably time to reinforce if possible!
