Re: Artillery Shooting From Hills

A related question. Is artillery firing from an elevated position at an advantage for LOS purposes?

Re: Low camera angle

...sorry, just done some archive searching (which I know I should have done before posting!) and found this:

viewtopic.php?f=299&t=53266#p499256

...I assume that is how the above linked screenshot was achieved? Or is there another way to change the angle?

Low camera angle

I have figured out that Q and E rotates the camera and that you can zoom in quite a long way, but what are the keys to get low and recreate a camera angle like the one shown below?

Re: Battle of White Mountain

Thanks for the hint. Going all Pike at the front swung it for me on the middle difficulty setting. It was a damn close run thing, but we got the Hussars behind their guns and managed to hold the Palace. We were only a few percentage points away from losing but they broke the magic 60% first.

Re: Campaign progress

Oh yes, I'm not suggesting you should have to unlock the next battle, merely that it would be nice to have a visual record of the ones you've beaten.

Re: Campaign progress

Having played around with it a bit, it seems to start you on the next one. Not sure how that will work if you play out of sequence. A badge or icon to say the battle has been won would be a great feature for a patch.

Campaign progress

I just managed to win the first battle of the Thirty Years War (after three failed attempts, but on the middle difficulty). Yay me! Is there any way to keep track of what battles have been won? I assumed that winning one would unlock the next, but it seems they are all instantly playable and there i...

Re: Excited because...

Thank you for the reply.

I'm mildly obsessed by the ECW, but I'm going to leave that 'til later I think and tackle one of the other periods first.

Congratulations on a first class game :).

Re: Excited because...

It certainly is :) Have only had chance to play this evening. Completed the four tutorials (fourth one took me a few attempts!) and have thoroughly enjoyed my first ECW "Skirmish". Are the three campaigns intended to be played in any order, or is there an inherent difficulty progression through the ...

Excited because...

...I'm getting P&S for Xmas tomorrow.

Have waited *so long* for a decent C17th game.

Feel like a kid.

I'm 42 ;).

Re: Buying on Amazon

Oh I've read plenty of positive reviews. It's the fact that this was on Amazon that I thought was worthy of note. However since you can't buy it on Amazon, perhaps it doesn't matter!

Re: Buying on Amazon

A pretty punishing review just got posted that may warrant a more positive perspective from those who enjoy the game! I can't comment either way, I have to wait for Santa to deliver it :)

Re: Buying on Amazon

Thank you.

Are DVDs being fulfilled from the Slitherine shop now? If so, I'll try that.

Re: Buying on Amazon

94 people have read this and no-one has a word of advice? Not even from the developer or publisher?

All I need is someone to tell me "the only way to get a boxed copy is to order through the Slitherine shop".

Is that truly the case?

Re: Buying on Amazon

...I guess if there's a retail chain that stocks the physical DVD that would also be useful. Can this game be bought in the shops?

Buying on Amazon

Hello folks. I appreciate there is an online purchase option on the Slitherine webpage, but I'd like to recommend this game to someone to buy as a present and they would almost certainly prefer to use Amazon. Is the game ever going to be available there? They will want a physical DVD I am sure. Amaz...
