Re: 1.39 beta

Thank you zakblood from the whole community on your detective work. Also, hope you are feeling okay, as I seem to remember you had a lot of back problems or something.

Re: Mineral Resource Depletion Moddable?

The AIs and I like a fast start, so increased everything from 3-5x. The game has remained relatively balanced and less stressful

The Bldg folder files are very easy to edit. But you have to start a new game obviously, so be sure you got what you want.

Re: Is anyone else not liking the AI?

I've tried to attach a file that gives some information on race and AI behavior. But good luck posting any files to these forums  There are a few other detailed files as well. I've modded some simple stuff with success. And with more mod capabilities coming (not sure what they are), but we sho...

Re: bought Polaris Sector - Bust

You hopefully fixed this, but two files are created after unzipping the download. One is the exe you double click on, second is just more data.

Re: Is anyone else not liking the AI?

Haven't gotten very far, but this is not good news for a game without multiplayer. Not that I'd play MP anyway. The reason there is no MP in the new Napoleon game is so they could concentrate on the AI, says the Dev. I wonder what Polaris' excuse may be? There is the "external threat" and pirates, b...

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I don't know how some people have come so far in the game. Must be playing day and night.

Yep, it was Avast blocking it. I will be careful messing with these files. Thanks.

Re: My Polaris Sector onedrive Modding-Help folder

Thank you, but I am a dumb dude. All is see is about uploading files, but can't figure out where to download? Having some fun with the BLDG files, though. Got 78M food, and then had farms make a different resource. Upped the science output too, so will be really interesting when I meet my AI friends...

Re: My Polaris Sector onedrive Modding-Help folder

Thank you. Of course, I do not want to give my competitors the same advantages

Would changing the "AIValue" help in that area?

And yes, I suppose I can just play on easy!

Either way, modifying science could jump-start the game, as a few people said it was slow going at first.

Re: Is the 4x genre stagnating? Join the discussion.

The latest eXplorminate review of Polaris Sector indirectly sheds some light on what is good and also lacking in 4x games today. There is certainly no shortage of them. After playing Sid's Beyond Earth and especially GalCiv III, I would personally say 4x is definitely stagnating  I will watch ...

Re: My Polaris Sector onedrive Modding-Help folder

Thank you for your efforts. Right now, I would just like to increase some of the stats for the vanilla races, if there is an "easy" way. Otherwise, will wait for the patch.

Re: Basically an Armageddon Empires remake?

I still have AE and the expansion, so will attempt it one day. The Hell-oriented game demo seems so simple, but I just didn't get the concept. Too used to "simple" games like World in Flames I guess

Re: Basically an Armageddon Empires remake?

CC's AE has a huge learning curve (imo). I bought it back in 2007 whatever, and still don't have the patience to go through the manual, which is crammed with unusual concepts that really require study. The new game is sort of the opposite in terms of complexity, but I'm sure will be better after it ...

Re: How to share your custom scenarios made in the Editor

Man, you are a machine :D

Thank you and devs for making this important and free addition to the game. No one should even think twice about buying the $2 DLC, as well.

With the huge maps, will it be possible to go beyond 10 turns?

Re: Very Difficult

That's why I like moddable games like Hell with an editor. You can edit scenarios as well as have fun with the csv files.

Playing MP you're on your own obviously :)

Lousy was too strong a word, but I was frustrated, as BAs and PzC are so easy to edit existing scenarios.

I did find the WH weapons and unittypes file, however...he he

Re: Scenario depot?

I have yet to come across one user-made scenario. I have everything, including new dlc. All I want to do is plop a few extra units into an existing scenario or campaign scenario and play. But all I get is Windows errors. I used to be able to do it. What happened? I do not expect a full PDF on the sc...

Re: German Rogue Mission

I cheated myself some extra gold, so serves me right. I can move units around, but Proceed button does nothing.

I hit CTRL-R but nothing happened. Also am not online.

Very good game, but wouldn't have made it this far in Rogue without some "help."
