Re: Having trouble winning

Multiplayer is the best way, although I don't have time for it myself unfortunately.

I often learn by modding (experimenting) with the Squads file that contains all the unit attributes after backing up of course.

Re: Fog II and Pike and Shot II?

This is one sweet game. Sengoku was okay and played it out pretty quick. P&S will take longer, but FoG2 seems such a huge step forward, with so many nice little details added in. I hate to say graphics matter in a wargame, but they do increase immersion for me. Anyway, considering all the Steam "sal...

Re: First Impressions :)

The AI often makes suicidal advances into hexes surrounded by enemy units. Programming some parameters for the AI to consider before moving would be great - but I'm no programmer. This does seem the perfect game to introduce ACW buffs into the fold though. Scourge of War and the HPS series would ove...

Modding saved game files

As most of you are probably aware, this can be easily done after the first turn you have a save file to edit. Make sure it isn't write-protected and you can change units' strength, morale, speed, for both sides. As long as they haven't appeared on the map yet. I haven't gotten any farther than that....

Re: Ideas for how to learn the game?

I will use CheatEngine when buying units in skirmishes to increase points for experimentation with lots of units. Also, to beat the AI

Re: Any chance for a console port?

Ten years ago, one might question buying a PC for gaming. But with all the good stuff out there now, and good PC prices, it is worth it. I also use my PC for "work." Never got into consoles cause no kids at home. But obviously I am preaching to the choir

Re: Gettysburg: The Tide Turns version 1.03 is out!

What is the status on the supposed problem below? Got lazy and copied from a guy on Steam who posted today: Im very much enjoying my purchase of Gettysburg the Tide turns, But unable to advance to turn 12 on the campaign, my campagin keeps ending at turn 11 on victory conditions. Im taking great car...

Re: Why don't you give us a choice where to install DLC?

Hi Pip, It worked in the base game campaigns (Storm Claw, etc.), which is the reason I bring it up. But further up the thread, dev said some changes were made. But still feel we should be able to open the DLC scenarios in the editor and make changes as we paid for the content. Admittedly, most peopl...

Bump, Bump...who's there?

Still wondering about this. Also, hope you don't start locking down the game modding because of idiots stealing your work. Pirates will get around it anyway.

Thank you for an answer when you can.

Re: Why don't you give us a choice where to install DLC?

So that explains that, and I know you are a bit busy at the moment. But just so you know what's going on with your game: With the campaign in my documents, open a Weirdboy scenario in the editor and add a couple of units and save it. When I re-open it in the editor the changes don't stick. Now that'...

Re: Why don't you give us a choice where to install DLC?

I can't edit any Weirdboy scenarios and then play them. The file is updated with the edits, but the changes do not show up in-game. With all other campaigns I copy folder to my documents, edit first campaign scenario, make copy of the original and place it in scenario folder (I do not play MP, so no...

There's something else going on with this DLC. Try OrksLanding yourself and see if you can make it work.

Re: Why don't you give us a choice where to install DLC?

Sorry for the rant, gentlemen. It was late and I wanted to play the new Gettysburg game

Anyway, all my "issues" have been solved in a flash, and I again regret my short temper. I will try the editor tonight

Thank you,

Mike

Re: Why don't you give us a choice where to install DLC?

Even worse, why the hell can't we edit the DLC campaign missions in the editor? Works fine with the base game. And where are our Steam keys? Would have saved me a ton of time. I've spent thousands of dollars over the past 20 years - you can check me out - and I am asking for a formal refund on the D...

Why don't you give us a choice where to install DLC?

I intentionally installed SR base not under Program Files for a reason. So after purchasing the Weirdboy DLC today, it only gives me that place to install it. So I have to uninstall everything and start over. It cost me $10 - but my time messing with this is much more valuable. Why was this done whe...

Put the preset you provided in the preset folder and everything else from downloaded program in game directory and messed up game. Had to reboot and remove the mod files manually. We need more detailed info on how/if this actually works.

Re: I would pay $19.99 for the DLC if it had this:

Frustration is understood. But you can easily take any mission of any campaign and put any units you want in there in the editor, save it, and done. If the editor wasn't easy to use, that would be different. However, I'm sure this "glitch" is almost as annoying to the devs as to some players! If by ...

Whatever I may have posted above, I humbly take back. I had no idea the game was only $9.99!

I will buy once the freeze bugs are addressed.

Now, as far as Brother vs Brother...
