Re: Level of complexity vs BA2

That's why I play games on an i7 desktop with lots of RAM and a decent video card. This is not a processor intensive game - I don't think? You are exactly right how it is not the "clear the town" aspect of BA2. It is often a mindless Orc horde just running at you. In BA2, there is tension and I real...

Re: Yes, this game has Hotseat mode!!!

I am not a Warhammer nerd and don't care about the lore. Tanks is Tanks. But I like the game well enough. However, from a tactics point of view, I work a lot harder to win in Battle Academy 2. So this is on the "light" side in my opinion.

Re: Wishlist/Fixes for Sanctus Reach - Devs, check it out.

I also hope the devs read your comments. As far as the UI, I guess you have never played Matrix Tigers on the Hunt . It is amazing what poor UI's wargamers will put up with. I am used to the Battle Academy engine interface, so I am okay, but some are not. The AI I am hoping they will work on per you...

Re: Game reviewed!

Thanks for being the first to get a review up. Perhaps the best thing is the Steam release. If we don't like it, we can refund our money, which was understandably never the case here. I'll know if it's for me in less than two hours play time. I am not a WH nerd, so the game tactics are fairly deriva...

Re: So how is the AI on this ?

For me, War in the East is too much, except the smallest scenarios, and this one too simple to create a sense of immersion. Decisive Battles Case Blue by Matrix comes closer to the "ideal" but is also a bit on the counter-heavy side. My first wargame was Chris Crawford's Eastern Front (1982?) and I ...

Re: So how is the AI on this ?

Much more a puzzle game with a wargame wrapper around it. Not bad for a $10 port.

Re: Drive on Moscow is OUT!

Well it's a pretty dumb mistake, considering none of their other games had editors. I usually only buy games with editors or some type of modding capability.

But thanks for the quick answer!

Re: Drive on Moscow is OUT!

I noticed the product page says the game has an "editor." I was surprised by this. Is this correct?

Re: On PC

The game was not introduced for Windows to "improve Game Center chat." That makes me suspicious of a "wargame" with those priorities. However, the developer is promising some very ambitious enhancements for the PC. Definitely can be an attractive game for the hand-held crowd. It will be interesting ...

Campaigns bugged - Solved by reinstall

After installing 21st Panzer DLC, when I go to any of the three campaigns, I get what looks like latin descriptions and only the option to go back. I verified Steam files and also for the first time registered online, which I really didn't want to do. Anyway, with that fresh start same thing happened.

Re: Sengoku Jidai - The question of control

Sengoku has been a great primer for me on playing the P&S games. The latter have so many units and weapons I had not time to study them. But I am enjoying Sengoku without reading the manual (very bad). I like how certain units have that staying power, and it seems the combat results are right-on, al...

Re: replaying campaign scenarios

I was able to copy all my Chinese scenarios, for example, into my user/blah blah folder and open them up in the editor and edit and/or play them. Also, able to edit them and replace the original(s) in the campaign for a new campaign experience.

They did mention something about "what if" scenarios. The library issue, I don't know?

Re: To whoever did mission design for US '42

Hope that changes as campaign goes on...

I am repeating myself, but here is a wonderful mod. The broken English in the briefings just adds to the realism.

Re: Why excellent Polaris lost dull Stellaris

These are all good points. "You have to pay attention" is a charitable way of saying, where was that tanker going anyway?

I can handle the micro, and really enjoy the game up to a certain point. Not sure what could be done. I will try the mods of course after the next patch.

Re: Why excellent Polaris lost dull Stellaris

I am putting Stellaris away until the first patch and dlc. I got it "on sale" for $30, but it's going to cost customers a lot more to get a good AI and many other things. There appears to be a very good and fair review on Steam for the game, and it's depressing. Although the gent says he still enjoy...

Re: Buy or Wait

Yes, great we have the option to buy at Matrix/Slitherine and also get a Steam key if we want. Way OT, but interesting topic running a computer offline all the time. I assume you could download updates from your other computer to external drive, etc. However, you would be "missing" Windows system up...

Re: Buy or Wait

Slitherine is getting with the program on discounts. Some games that have been out only three months got discounted. That is unheard of in the past.

So if you can wait 3-6 months, you might get 50% off. It's always a gamble, but for me, I rarely ever wait
