Re: An honest review of Armageddon from a long time 40k fan.

I read somewhere that GW no longer uses stormtroopers as it infringed on the copyright of the Star Wars Franchise. That's copyright gone mad if true! Stormtroopers were not invented by George Lucas: they've been around since at least the end of World War I: http://www.worldwar1.com/arm011.htm . And...

Thanks for the reply. He has a lot of Italian air and armour, and about 5 German units (mech, tac, ftr, arm and inf). He didn't do Barbarossa OR Sealion so I expect he has a huge stockpile of resources he is using to fund the oversupply situation he is in. It is our first game - but we are both 35 y...

North African supply

I'm in a game at the moment and I have complete supremacy at sea as the Allies in the Med, but the Axis have gone all out on land in North Africa and are pushing hard. Is there any way I can choke off Axis supply with my navy, e.g. blockading North African ports? Also, I haven't done the exact calcu...

Is it possible to save France against Axis human player?

Hello, I'm playing my first ever game of CEW. I'm playing the Allies, and decided to go all out trying to save France. By mid-August 1940 the French units were starting to crumble, and I decided to pull out the UK and Canadian troops which I had there in numbers for fear of them getting caught in a ...

Re: Undo feature?

Hi, I can't see any way of undoing a move, and I read a thread dated a few years back talking about this and why it wasn't implemented initially and the constant save work around. Did it change in the latest version? Personally I find it very frustrating since it is a common feature on similar game...

PBEM Question: How to plan next turn while opponent plays?

Hi, is there a way I can be reviewing the game at the state it was just before I hit the end turn button while my opponent is having their turn with the file I sent? It will help me with my planning and speed the game up. Thanks.

Before buying this game ..

Hi, a friend of mine has a Mac and I have a PC, and we want to play this game against each other online. If I understand it correctly, if we wait until the GC 2.00 patch is released next week and we each buy a copy of the game then and download the patch we will be able to play each other PBEM, but ...

I've been playing PC wargames for 25 years and have NEVER found a game with good AI, including BA, it just can't be done. That's why there are thriving play-by-email and TCP/IP communities out there for all sorts of wargames, and no doubt in time that'll apply to BA too as its fan base grows.. Reme...

Disappointed with the AI

I bought the game today and have played a few battles in the North Africa campaign and I have to say that I find the AI really disappointing so far. For example, in the fortress battle, the AI just seems to charge AT guns and run into point blank range of infantry. There doesn't appear to be any att...

We'll see if we can add an opt out in the user profile section. It was not something we even considered - we thought people would love it :) I think a ranking is only fun if it provides a fair representation of your skill at the game. Like someone else mentioned, sometimes they mess around with sce...

Rankings and scenario design

Do the rankings include custom games or only out of the box games?

As a scenario designer I play test my scenarios a lot, and I get quite a few defeats as I try and give them a knife-edge balance. Looking at my stats it looks like these are included in the rankings.

Hi Brigz, at what point do you get the invald message? I just checked the file again and I don't get any errors. Just to check we are both following the same process (1) I copy the zip file to the folder "FieldofGlory Scenarios", then I extract it into that folder by double clicking it and following...

The AI tended to dither about abit and didnt take the option to try and envelope me with forces behind the front line. I've tried lots of different ways to solve this (including different map configurations), but if the Spartans move up the map the flankers dither. I may replace them with even stur...

Re: Spartans forever!

Hi! I played with the Spartans and pulled back till the area where they can defend themselves easily! To help me with designing the next version, where did you pull back to? The decision I'm trying to force is the one Leonidas had to make: stay back where the pass is narrow to defend against the ma...
