But I have always thought of the commanders, at least as they work in this game, as representing not just the single person of the commander himself but the organizational and logistical infrastructure that supports the army and army groups in the field. In other words, a good commander represents ...

For what its worth, I also support all attempts to make the game more historically accurate. I like the idea of the British getting another fighter at the beginning, even if it is at lower strength than 10 and the French getting their symbolic tac at 3. Keep up the great work! :)

I do tend to think of air as being almost like paratroopers when used in the role Plaid suggests. I think I may be in the minority here but I have to say I don't see why we need strong ground survivability values for fighters/tacs/strats. In my opinion, they should have values similar to garrisons ...

About Atlantic Wall, maybe its worthy to give an axis player right to choose, if he wants system of atlantic forts or PPs? Its a bit more logical, because construction of fort system is resource consuming, and if situation is really bad (major defeat in russia in '41 winter, for example) resources ...

This looks great! Overlord will feel much more realistic now. Maybe the days of blocking landing sites with fighters will be over? One question regarding the number of landings an amph can do. If you attack an occupied coastal hex once and don't land the unit afterwards, can it then attack another o...

Nice! I like the idea of implementing a scorched earth eastern front system. Why do you limit the deduction to 5 pp's though? Scorched earth implies completely destroyed resources so it might make sense to make the pp deduction 100%.

I too was also looking forward to seeing how this game would play out. I'm not sure why you guys decided to end this one-- it looked like it would have been a very interesting game to finish. Thanks for doing the AAR though. It must have taken a fair bit of your time. Also, I like your style of play...

Unfortunately, this AAR game against Borger has been put on hold. I won't go into the details, but suffice it to say that it is an internal matter within the GS development team (of which I am a very minor part of). Hopefully we can resolve it soon and continue playing, but the ball is in Borger's ...

Hi Joe, Thanks for doing this AAR. I think seeing how you and Stauffenberg battle each other will be helpful for a lot of us. I am curious about how you feel about Norway these days while playing the Axis. Do you usually not bother with it or does it depend on your opponent? Good luck with your camp...

Yeah, I think a strong BEF in France can be a very effective Allied strategy. The key is to hold France long enough that the Axis are prevented from landing in 1940 in England due to rough weather. If the Axis are doing Sitzkrieg I think this is definitely an option to be considered. In one game I p...

Hmm, quickest way to lose as the Axis? This reminds me of my first game playing CEAW (Vanilla version). I was playing Allies and I decided to send a large British force to France to try to make it last as long as possible. My opponent who had played a few times observed this and launched Sea Lion wi...

Stauffenberg, Thanks for the in-depth response! Like you, I think that most people would like to keep the supply rules very similar to the way it is- it is easy and very playable. I wonder if there is something fairly simple that could be tried to make Antwerp more historically relevant. Would it be...

Usually, the Allies can't take Paris without having a good hold on the coast - so you can assume they have captured some decent ports by that point. And Paris was a major railway hub for France, which makes it an important link in the supply chain. So I think Paris works all right for supply purpos...

Plaid, I agree that Axis had supply problems during the Overlord period of time as well. I think the reasons for this are also part of the game as it stands currently. For example, the western allies can build strategic bombers like what happened in WWII and reduce the German infrastructure to ruins...

GS and Antwerp

I have a question for the GS development team. For Overlord, did you guys ever consider giving the Western Allies supply level 5 only when Antwerp is taken and leaving maximum supply level 3 until this event? This would correlate to the historical situation of the US and GB having supply issues unti...

Maybe I am missing something here, but can't you put the bomber south of Washington on a transport and deploy a unit there? That might be helpful in the coming battles if you have that infantry unit at high efficiency waiting to step in if the unit in the capital gets badly battered. Something I do ...

I have a few suggestions for the next mod which I haven't seen discussed so may be of interest to the BJR team: 1. Winter weather for uboats in the Atlantic. According the Battlefield series, the weather was often severe enough (December-January?) that the convoys could get through unscathed. Check ...
