Aug 1 1941 This is really a black turn for Axis ! An unexcepted disaster happened in the North . The Russians occupy Joensuu and destroy the Finnish air force. With most of Finland troops by Petrozavodsk, I was very surprised that Finland signed the armistice! I guess it's because I still did not t...

I've always thought MECHs simply as a decently armored corps with less overall armor than ARM. Say for German ARM, 2 PzD + 1 Mot.D or PzGrenD. (Tank Armies for Soviets with, 2 Tank Corps + 1 Mechanized Corps) For German MECH 1 PzD + 2 Mot.D/PzGrenD. Actually, it'd still be called a panzerkorps but m...

I'm not enough of a student of history to know the details of the strategic thinking behind Axis actions in North Africa. What, precisely, did they hope to gain in attacking Egypt? Once the Italian invasion had flopped, Rommel didn't content himself with throwing the Brits out of Tobruk--he went he...

I'm at 400-500 as well during late '43 in one '42 Barbarossa game. That's with no overbuilds for most of the time. Game's almost decided but if it continued to say Fall '44 I could see going close to zero. On the otherhand I've never had problems in '41 Barbarossa games. Seems adding couple hundred ...

We see that the Soviet oil production wasn't so high and USA had much more oil production than USSR. With Baku in Axis hands then I think that the US would send transports to Russian Pacific ports with oil. But these transports could be sunk or bombed by Japanese forces before arriving in Russian p...

I wouldn't be opposed to adding similar morale effects on Suez/Iraq if there's one for Libya... I think the problem with Libya is the percieved no-brainer status. How many players actually evac Libya in '40 (in most games anyway)? Personally I don't, but I've never really counted the pros/cons either.

I was wondering do we have the OOB for Italy correct in N. A. ? Maybe we need to adjust the Italian setup? Like have the IT Armor added starting in Libya. According to Niehoster OOB majority of Italian armor was in mainland Italy on June 10th 1940. http://niehorster.orbat.com/019_italy/40-06-10_arm...

Soviets didn't have problems regarding amounts of oil/fuel per se. They did however have limited production of higher grade oil products like high-octane aviation fuels. AFAIK those were mostly brought from the US via Pacific LL route. Looks like we need to do some research here. How dependent were ...

I know he does :) I've usually tried to save corps or two just incase. Well, unless Paris is going really fast or I know for (almost) sure that opponent won't delay Barbarossa. Just personal preference really. I do like to discourage this Axis strategy by keeping few French units around since I don'...
