I'm not sure that is an answer.... If the unit can't move through these hexes in normal movement, or when routing - why should they be able to move this way in a break-off. I can't even see the logic in this ability. I recently had a break-off where the enemy cavalry unit moved through the 1 hex gap...

To follow TGM's tongue in cheek response....

why not scrap the camps altogether. I have never seen the logic in it and let's face it we all want to win Mano-a-Mano, not in some cowardly underhand manner by sneaking around and looting a camp.

And of course in SOA drilled / trained troops should not be permitted to loot camps - it is something no gentleman would allow.

The English of course are exempt from this rule.

I agree with gaz Particularly with a 41 point typical ROR army - compared to a 29 point roman army - why is the say Carthaginian camp worth 2 points more? And of course you never see a 40 point army - as you go back and adjust the army to save that break point????? I also think all camps should have...

I think the 50% / 50% is about right - which is a weakness in this game. Knowledge of the game changes this - but with two relatively equal players it might be even more luck. There is too much randomness on die rolls. I can't remember the TT game but i can't think of another game with a similar com...

Hi I agree with the points made so far... Not that interested in the friends list - we want to make it as easy as possible for new players to join. And the rating could be counter-productive. Strongly agree with stockwellpete's suggestion of being able to look at the game while it is your opponents ...

I have the same problem.
Same effect error when accepting a game - so I ended up accepted two games (sorry Tim).
Playing the game seems unaffected.

Also not getting any emails - not game turns, forum messages and just saw a pm that i didn't recieve a notification for.

cheers, Jon

People If you look at the table I suggested you would get a slightly bigger spread with the bonus point, and might satisfy the desire to award big wins. In a mirror tourney - two games a round 10 pts. - two big wins 9 pts. - two wins - 1 big 8 pts. - two wins 7 pts. - 1 big win, draw 6 pts. - 1 win ...

My 2 cents worth...

How about a scoring system as follows
4 points for a win
2 for a draw
1 bonus point for a narrow loss or a big win

Then use the current numbers as tie breakers for those on equal points.

A win by dropout would be a standard 4 point win.

Teutoburger Wald - Legions Triumphant Tournament

I am interested in players thoughts on this scenario When I click on it to play I was extremely disappointed in this as a tournament scenario. I can that some might be interested in this. I just don't think it is a good choice for a tournament. Whatever the outcome from this game, i don't feel I wil...

Hi I just saw Triarius post about being scratched. It looks like my opponent in this round cothyso has withdrawn. Not sure if it is possible to substitute Triarius for cothyso. I am happy to reset the clock - and try and get in however many turns we can. I understand the finish time is set I would r...

Base to base contact with enemy and not in combat

Hi This may be one of those things that can happen... but At the start of my turn - I had a unit of Medium infantry in base to base contact with a unit of cavalry. Both units were facing towards each other. It was only after I charged with a third unit and the cavalry evaded that I realised there wa...

Winning initative and terrain selection

Hi I am not sure if there is a more appropriate place to post this. I am happy to receive guidance. I have start playing playing the game online in the LoEG. The initative and terrain selection process doesn't seem to be ideal. I have seen comments that it is better to lose the initative - to get th...

Thanks for that. I had only read the part on cohesion tests... I just dived into the game and started to play. It is a little unusual - I guess that means that better quality, more expensive troops have an advatange over the hordes - but then I assume that is taken into account in the points costs. ...

Is that right - what a bizzare rule. And not how it is documented in the help that comes with the game. I have never seen another game that works in this way.... So this means that if i target 1 unit on combat who rolls a good cohesion test, then I should target a different unit if possible. Not the...

Bug? or just the roll of the dice -

Hi I am not sure if what I am seeing is just randomness I am in a game where the cohesion test rolled double six three time in a row. I had the feeling that troops were not breaking as I would expect - so I was looking out for it. And if my maths is the odds of this is 1/46,656 so I figured that the...
