At first I thought it a little daunting too but I put that down mainly to two factors. Firstly we had a PC print out beta with no diagrams and without the professional finish/polish that the book will have. Secondly, thankfully, the rules are easy enough to learn BUT have enough complexity in them t...

Excellent IMO. Takes some of the best mechanisms from rules in the past and leaves out the poor ones and the pain. Well written, easy to LEARN, subtle and complex to master, superb troop differentiation and granularity and what seems to be very high production values. Almost certain it will be my an...

We would allow the feed-in (if it ends up looking like the photo - or indeed think you could expand the other side too). Our reading (for a similar occurrence we had) is that the rules allow the non-active player to match expansions/combat frontage, with match being viewed as they key word here. Thu...

Doubtless the long standing play-testers and/or design team will answer this but my reading is that the intercept cannot be executed in this way as the first bullet on p31 reads that an intercept charge must be straight forward and cannot include ANY shifts, changes in formation or interpenetrations...

Yep, that's the one. I was certain it had an Osprey number though, perhaps I was confused with another book I was searching for at the time. I do however specifically recall asking Osprey is they had plans to re-issue it so the confusion must have crept in somewhere with this specific title. Anyway,...

Osprey gaps
One thing I am hoping with FOG is that Osprey review what they currently offer on the history of the various armies. Key will be the extent to which they will sell of course. Personally I'd like to see a release/re-release of the Sekunda Seleucid book which I have been after for a while now

Currently using double sided red/blue counters here. Essex used to do some generic 'status' markers. Not sure if they still do or if the relevant 'state' (or something close to them are available). I'd be interested in some good quality markers, Flames of War style (but not a set for each army as th...

Thanks Richard. I think the confusion with the first point (2nd rank shooters) was caused by lack of familiarity with/knowledge of the rules coupled with an eagerness to get playing. Re the cav move - that's the conclusion we came to - a) you could do it and b) it constitutes a double wheel (in othe...
